5 out of 5 stars Best wheel   March 28, 2008

This is the best wheel I've used. Its really nice. If your looking for a wheel you should really consisder this one. I use it for my PS3 and it works perfectly. The only downside is that it doesnt have a PS button so you will need your controller to exit the game or turn off your PS3. I would also suggest you dont buy it from Tigerdirect or Compusa. Its where I got mine and it was used. I have read many reviews saying the wheel in bad shape but I just bought it from them anyways. Overall this is the best wheel, just buy it from a trusted seller.

The wheel is not as precise on the PS3 on wheel alignment and shifting with the manual pedals is not a realistic as I expected.

3 out of 5 stars G25 racing wheel review   March 24, 2008

I paid $18 for shipping on Amazon and never got my product after 9 days. Somebody lost it. It shipped again, and I didn't get credit for the high shipping fee. G25 is nice and works, but even though it's advertised to work with Vista, the CD software was for XP. I had to go to the internet (not in instructions) to find Vista Version. (Since this is only a game PC it wasn't connected to the internet, so I had to download to hard drive, make a CD and transfer the software to the Vista machine.) This is a $300 wheel, and Vista has been out for a long time!
Then it ships with a free trial racing game that has the Logitech lable on CD and G25 pre-set software. Only the pre-set software doesn't work, and a call to Tech support can't help. Unable to play racing game sent with Logitech G25 wheel. I'm not a happy customer.

5 out of 5 stars The best entry level high end wheel on the market.   March 1, 2008

The G25 is much more precise than the DFP. It is smoother and quieter. The bumps on Daytona (GT5P-Japan) come to life, even the washboard entering turn 1 when you hit it just right. Racing with the G25 is no longer a "tug-of-war" as it is with the DFP. The pedals feel rock solid and surely can handle whatever you dish out. Having large paddle shifter allows you to make use of the thumb rest, unlike other wheels on the market. Having a separate shifter allows you to place it wherever you want.

Mounting the G25 to a Playseat Evolution is the ultimate set up, this side of a fully mechanical motorized cockpit. Mounting the shifter to the shifter add-on with for Playseat will give you a sense of being in a real race car. Which leads to a more immersive racing experience.

Amazon's price combined with 24 hour shipping for $4 is, by far, the best overall deal on the internet, this side of Black Friday sales. There is even an online store trying to sell an open box unit for $249 with no warranty!

I'm glad I'm a Gran Turismo die hard and I'm so appreciative that Playstation is not playing any sort of proprietary games with peripherals like "the other console" owned by Mr. Money Bags.

The G25 coupled with a Playseat Evolution is a must buy if you are looking for a realistic racing experience.

See you on the track...

5 out of 5 stars Fun stuff   February 29, 2008

Haven't played this for a while but it's fun when I do. Much better control and the foot controls are well made. No problems with it so far and the forcefeedback is accurate enough for my tastes.
