hardware sensitive? July 11, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Please add to your reviews, the amount of memory (RAM) your system has, processor speed, and operating system. If unsure then include the year of purchase. There is usually a correlation between quality and hardware when using software of this type (resource hog). Will write/ dictate a review in a few days. Ignore the rating
Dragon Naturallly Speaking difficult to train June 27, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased the program for use dictating common conversational information into my new electronic medical record (I am an Internist). I have been going through the tutorials repeatedly and, though I feel like I am being consistant, will sometimes get the commands to work and sometimes get them typed into my note. It does get most of my dictation correctly the first pass but the editing functions need work
You Will Need to Buy New Headphones June 22, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
First, let me say that I've only had this product for 10 hours. So far, it's fairly accurate and I expect that it will increase in its accuracy as it learns and I learn. While the headphone works, I find it uncomfortable. I think I have an average-size head :-), but the headphone seems as if it'd be very comfortable on a ten year-old's head. As an adult, I find that it squeezes. I would imagine that this is a complaint that many will have; thus, my recommendation would be that you be prepared to buy new headphones. Now, I'll probably be spending hours at a time using Dragon; but if I were only going to use a total of an hour or two per week (and no more than 30 minutes at a time), I could survive w/out new headphones. Anyway, the good thing is that you won't need to purchase any new headphones before deciding how you feel about the one included in the product.
I love Dragon Naturally Speaking June 19, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I found this program to work wonderfully. Well worth the price. Before purchasing, I viewed an hour demo during a meeting of the Tampa PC Users Group. It was very impressive. The more I use the program the easier it becomes to take advantage of its features. The feature that sold me is the ability to import from a digital recorder. Also being able to jump in and use it without having the do an initial training session is also a feature that I found useful. Although to take advantage of the digital recorder feature does require a lengthy training session, it is well worth the time spent.
