I THINK 07 IS AN IMPROVEMENT OVER 03. I AM NOT AN OFFICE GEEK, BUT NEED TO USE THE PROGRAM TO ACCOMPLISH MY WORK. IT IS EASIER TO GET THE JOB DONE WITH THIS NEW VERSION. INTUITIVE THOUGHT PROCESSES WORK WITH IT. I LIKE IT AND AM HAPPY WITH IT.

1 out of 5 stars Can't get anything done using Office 2007   March 31, 2007

I am an experienced Office user. I recently updgraded from Office 2003 (which worked great) to Office 2007 and now I am much less productive.

Office 2007 is pretty but if you actually have to get something done at work DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT.

I was most pleased with the fast install of this program. This version comes with two DVD's... I only needed to use one DVD to install everything for my home use. The install took under 10 minutes from me opening the package to everything ready to go. Not like the old install time with multiple CD's (or if you are old enough to remember, installing from 1.44 meg floppies, YIKES)
So far I have been using WORD and EXCEL, but I haven't explored Access as of yet, and I don't use Outlook at home. Word and Excel have worked fine, had to explore a little to find some of the commands I normally use.

Basically, as been said before, its like a dull pencil.
You basically cant use it.
You have to hunt around for features in menus that you would normally find by enabling a few toolbars. For this much money, this version of office is pretty bad. I doesnt support legacy plugins properly nor does is support pdf output properly.
They also changed that clunky PDF knockoff to another extension....again.

Basically, its not worth upgrading to 2007.
If your an office hardcore user like me, you will not appreciate the new interface.
What would of been acceptable is to have the ability to change to the classic interface.
THEN, MS would succeed in its plan to draw more users.

Currently, MS is drawing NEW users, not more users to its products because of the radical and (most of the time) unproductive changes to its software and worst yet, they leave it at that static state.

So they get new users, but they loose the old ones.....how smart.

If they dont release a patch soon that does this, they will see that nobody is buying this product.

If they are still trying to figure out why their 07 marketing campaign was ill received, they should really fire some people and start listening to veteran users, since they are really the majority.
