Wanted So Much More November 30, 2007 12 out of 29 found this review helpful
Barely runs on my incredibly high end quad-core, sli, 8 gigs of mem, Vista Machine. I'm talking 19 frames at 1024 (and that is with the AA OFF?) I wanted to love this game. I ended up trapped in a world of stupid AI, and graphics that need so much optimization that it isn't worth playing. Crashtastic game. You only see the high poly faces in Cinematic Moments. It has pretty--but without playable pretty is a huge waste. I'll go back to TimeShift on the PC. That is pretty and runs at 80 plus frames with everything on at 2560 resolution for me.

This is the best first person game yet. You will need the latest hardware to play this game.
Money well spent???? November 28, 2007 1 out of 7 found this review helpful
Couldn't wait to get this game after the blast I had with Far Cry,one of my favorite games.I have a Dell 8400 with plenty of ram etc and a Radeon 256 card that I added a little over a year ago.I got the game home and it wouldn't run because of the card, couldn't return the game,Curcuit city will only swap it.Installed Nvidia card,$130,the game now plays and it reminds me of a Far Cry add on,nothing all that wonderful, just ok.I have always stayed away from Playstation,Xbox etc because I alway have thought the grapics are better. Now for this game I'm into $180 and maybe should have considered WII or a Playstation.OH I almost forgot I running Windows XP and Vista is really what I need to fully enjoy Crysis.I'll keep the Dell for awhile and maybe Santa will put a WII under the tree for me.Buyer beware as other reviews have warned,is this game worth the upgrade or maybe even a new PC to play this game or the other new shooters on the horizon.I'm loosing faith in PC games that are supposed to blow us all away and really don't deliver anything we haven't already seen or played.
Good but not Great November 27, 2007 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
The game that sold a million video cards, its a good game, good eye candy Pros Great engine Nano suit makes for creative gameplay Smooth visually good experience AI is great
Cons Graphics are over rated (leaves and fish who cares?) Short, game is over Some really boring missions, unadaptive script Bosses tough but boring NO SUPPORT FROM EA for Multiplayer
Not to repeat what others said, the graphics should not be more important than playing the game. As another person mentioned you play to be involved in the game not marvel at the leaves and turtles, I could not wait for a few of the missions to end (flight, zero-g). Once you get over the great look it turns out to be another shooter, weapons are good, nano suit keeps it fresh as it gives you many gameplay options, super sprint drop grenade, maximum armor, invisibility, customize weapons is nice too, etc.
Multiplayer ( HA !) I have 3 tickets open with EA support because even though I have had the game since it came out I am unable to play multiplayer, and EAs point of view on this is clearly that we have your money and you have a problem. I have played a variety of online games and none of them have given me this much difficulty as Crysis, nor the complete lack of help from EA, this cost them 1 star here, 30 useless generic response from them, like plug in your computer, turn the power on, duh
Your PC better have some power! November 27, 2007 75 out of 95 found this review helpful
This is a comment and not a review. Here are my specs: 2.66 DuoCore2, 4gb ram, and 8600gt running overclocked with nTune. My video card is my weak link on my system no doubt, but I'm shocked I can only run this game on medium at the next to lowest screen resolution. Thats the only setting I can run the game smoothly with NO fullscreen AA or particles on. This game is a system beast so you better have a better card than mine to take advantage of the great effects and graphics because I don't see it. This is getting ridiculous that you have to have a $400 video card to fully enjoy playing a $50 game....crazy!
