Much better than Bootcamp March 17, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was using Bootcamp before and it was a hassle to reboot when I needed to use Windows. VMware allows me to run both systems side by side. I have had no issues at all and I use it almost every day. It installed right over my Bootcamp partition trouble free. Highly recommend.
Speedier than Parallels March 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Have used Parallels 2.0 and 3.0, but VMware Fusion really stands out on performance. Running Windows XP(64-bit) just runs with 512mb memory allocation.
Fusion reveals what's wrong with Microsoft March 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The reason for buying Fusion is to allow programs written for microsoft's platform to be used on a mac. It works and works well, but once caught up in the microsoft web, one discovers why one uses a mac in the first place. Can you imagine a computer company requiring you to set the clock manually? With all the advances made in the past thirty years, microsoft continues along the same old lines.
Fortunately the non microsoft programs run just as they are intended (as long as you don't require blazing speed.)
So buy Fusion and use it. It's a good program and with the ability to switch back and forth between microsoft and apple through the "spaces" icon on the mac you've got the best of both worlds.
Awesome product! March 14, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm using a Mac Pro Tiger OS and this product did not disappoint. I've used VMware and ESX products before and I'm sure Fusion will deliver. It can run Vista 32 and 64 bit except it doesn't support Windows Aero, so don't expect Vista to run at its fullest. Great for testing updates, software, or as a secondary PC without ever having an extra hardware to clutter your desk.
Very good, but lack firewire support March 11, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
VMWare Fusion works as advertised. I bought it to continue using Adobe Premiere on Windows to edit videos. I soon discovered that Fusion does not support use of the firewire port. As I tried to find out why Premiere did not recognize my camcorder, I eventually learned through reading VMWare's material and blogs that firewire is not supported. For me, Bootcamp is the only solution.
