4 out of 5 stars Vista might cause problems   January 24, 2008

I purchased Photoshop Elements 6.0 for installation on my wife's new Dell Laptop that has The New Vista opperating system. The installation went smoothly, but the program refused to run. After four hours on the phone with Adobe tech support, (The first two were with a person that clearly did not know what the problem was) I got the problem fixed...and many people might have the problem. I was told it was caused by a "vapor launch", and will be a problem on ALL Vista computers that do not have the patch that fixes the problem. The patch comes with version 8.0 of Adobe Acrobat Reader...so if you don't have the patch, you will need to call Adobe and have them guide you through the installation.
I found nothing on the Web prior to purchase to warn me of this problem.

Product came very quickly. My daughter is into photography and is having a blast coming up with different things to do with pictures of her friends. It has a ton of things to do, is easy to learn, and there are many websites that show you how to do different effects.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent improvement   January 24, 2008

I've used Elements for years and this is the best version by far. Would have been nice to have a small starter manual, but that is the way the companies are going these days. I was on version 5 and am really glad I made the upgrade to 6 as I usually go a couple of versions before upgrading, but the reviews talked about some features that would save me time when working with photo's, so I upgraded and am glad I did.

2 out of 5 stars Not intuitive   January 23, 2008

I had been using a very basic Jasc photo software package and recently upgraded to Photoshop 6 on the recommendation of a friend. I must confess I am struggling with this software -- I don't find it to be intuitive at all. I've organized all of my photos but now find that I cannot zoom in on a picture if I am in organize mode. Instead, I must go into fix mode. Does anyone know a way to zoom in on a photo while in organize mode? Once I organize newly downloaded photos, I like to zoom in on some of them to determine if they are keepers. I would like to be able to do this without going into fix mode for each photo. Does anyone know if this is possible?

3 out of 5 stars Released before it was ready   January 20, 2008

I am glad I left Elements 5 installed, as there are several things you can't do in elem.6. It has some good new features which I want so at this point I need both 5 and 6 to satisfy my needs.
