Just getting into photograph and was told by my instructor to get Photoshop Elements 6. Awesome program, would recommend to all.
 Poorly Designed Program that Doesn't Play with Vista March 4, 2008

The program is very badly designed and hence not easy at all to us. For example, while it nicely loads pictures from a card reader, getting to those pictures to work on them is a challenge. Also, I'm constantly getting cryptic messages, such as "trying to reconnect files," whatever that means. The program is very slow. It may that the problem is Vista,which I have; but that's a cop-out, since third-party vendors had plenty of time to modify their software. Imho, Picasa is much,much better -- better designed, intuitive, fast free. Right now the only reason I use Elements is for the occasional RAW files, which Picasa doesn't handle. The bottom line is buying this program is for most people, including in retrospect me, a waste of money.

I downloaded this as a 30 trial prior to purchasing it. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered it from Amazon and even paid to have it overnighted so that I wouldn't go without even for a day. I have enjoyed the ease of working with pictures. I purchased a book to learn some of the tricks and that really helped as well. I also added a backdrop package to have even more fun with photos. I highly recommend Photoshop 6.

Photoshop elements is a great program for editing and enhancing photos. It is easy to work with although I would recommend a class or two to really enhance your editing skills.
Not easily compatible with older elements versions March 1, 2008

So after my fiance played around with it for a while, we decided to return it. He is quite computer savvy too. He didn't see any tremendous features over his older version and was annoyed that previously created tags weren't automatically recognized. Maybe others will have better luck
