I recently purchased Word 2008. I find it to be confusing and to have an overload of choices that I don't need. I can't seem to make Word do simple things. In short, I hate it and want my old Word back!

This product installed well on my IMAC and I found that it handled word files well that had been created on a PC using Word from Office 2003. Using word on a MAC is a little different than using it on a PC. I find the MAC software to be not as straight forward. I am currently writing manuscripts, and some of the more subtle features of Word on the MAC have given me problems. I was keeping my documents in the computability doc format, which allowed me to shuffle back and forth from MAC to PC, but I started having problems with a document quitting unexpectedly especially after updating my custom dictionary with words from my old custom dictionary on the PC. All in all I find Office to be very useful on the MAC. I think I just have to get used to it.
Bought for $30 but still remorsing June 22, 2008
I bought this for $30 from the on campus apple store but after using this for 1 week, I started hating myself for buying such a crappy software. One of the problems with MS office is that it starts hogging resources as soon as you start it and sometimes I have found that the outputted documents are not compatible with MS office 2004 on Windows (even when you ask Office 2008 to generate 2004 compatible documents).
Before buying office mac, I used open office and I still feel that open office is better than this office-mac.
This vendor is terrible and should be eliminated from Amazon's list June 19, 2008

I ordered a Microsoft Office 2008 from this vendor. He insisted on immediate PayPal payment. Nothing ever came. After about two weeks of waiting, I let him know that I needed the product by a certain date. He responded that it would be sent right away. It never came. I asked him for an update. He responded that it had been returned as undeliverable. Doubtful, since all my other mail was received. I then gave him may address and asked that he resend it. It never came. I asked for an update. No response. After about ten days I asked for another update. No response, again. I asked for the courtesy of a response of some sort. Nothing came back. I filed a claim with Amazon. They investigated and simply refunded my money. Two months later I have no product and I'm starting all over. I recommend that Amazon eliminate this vendor from their list of approved vendors and that anyone contemplating a purchase from him read all the reviews (which I failed to do BEFORE I placed an order with him). Basically, he had the time and use of my money for two months. That is the bottom line. A very sad experience.

I'm not even sure I should have given this product a star at all. The programs constantly shut down with some error. I have a new imac I put Office on. Once you open a Word doc for example and then try to make a change or go to file print, the program closes without warning (therefore any changes made to your doc would be lost). I downloaded the "fixes" that exist so far and nothing seems to work. I don't recommend taking a chance on this product until they take the time to make a version that's reliable.
