Necessary Adobe Product July 6, 2008 Adobe Acrobat Professional make life so much simpler. It allows you to make pdf's so you can send them to people without microsoft word. All they have to have is the free Adobe pdf reader found on adobe's website.
It also allows you to convert pdf's back into word documents, or just lets you type in the pdf itself. One of the most useful tools it has is "scanning to pdf" so you can scan in a 14 page contract, and it's ready to go as one email, instead of having 14 different attachments.
For students, this product allows you to type directly in your professors class notes that they've posted online. (if in pdf format)
Acrobat 7.0 Professional Review September 5, 2007 I'm pleased with the software. It has provided me with options that I needed on my machine. I look forward to becoming proficient with Acrobat 7.0 Professional's features as I continue to use it.
Whao-Hoo! November 10, 2006 It does everything I hoped for and more!! As a new user of Acrobate, I am very definitely impressed... in part by the ease with which I am able to learn the program, as well as its functionality!
Horrible quality at a premium price October 28, 2006 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Acrobat 5 was so buggy that I thought I'd give Adobe a couple of product cycles before upgrading. Should have waited longer. There have been improvements in v7: a better look, better commenting, the ability to add text that actually prints, and far better OCR functionality. But other basic functions are way worse than in v5: some Word documents that were easy to convert to pdf in v5 will not convert in v7, seems to be something to do with font license issues. Installation is a nightmare and repeated re-installation was required to get past system hangs, clashes with standard security software, and endless errors in the automatic update feature. The new product activation makes this even more of a pain because too many re-installations force you to activate by phone. Despite my already low expectations of Adobe, this product is a disappointment. With Acrobat 7, Adobe is, as usual, charging top $ for what any decent company would consider an embarrassing mess even as a beta version. (For reference, my system is Window XP pro, Pentium 4 3GHz, 2.5GB RAM)
What a disappointment October 20, 2006 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
I actually didn't purchase this product, but my company did and I am getting the PDF Error 20225 no matter what we do. I have followed all of the steps to eradicate this error from the Adobe website to no avail. Now all I'm stuck with is a high-priced reader. I wanted this product so that I could make end-user documentation using graphics. The demo product worked great but this version stinks to high heaven. I will be posting this on the Adobe website as well. They desperately need to get a fix for this and not 16 steps that don't work.
