 Fast and easy way to transfer video (analog) to the pc January 22, 2007

You can transfer video (analog) direct to the dvd burner or
to the pc to edit it using the studio 10 (basic) software provided.
If you have an older pc the direct transfer is best, the dazzle has
hardware to do the work so your older pc can be used.
You'll need 512Mb just to run the studio 10 package.
Easy to add fade to black, transitions from one scene to the next.
When you've mastered the studio software, then you can upgrade it
online to the full package for under $ 30 (worth it).

The Pinnacle software is a memory Hog.

I found this product very easy to install and use. I have not played with the Studio software yet ... but my intent was not to do fancy editing but rather capture video streams and get them to a DVD. The instant DVD recorder does a wonderful job of this with little effort. A really nice feature of the instant recorder is the ability to automatically generate chapters at any interval (example: .. every 10 minutes ... etc.). The final product has a very professional look on the opening title page.; however, you can't expect to get the full clarity of a professionally created DVD if the "GOOD" record quality is selected. "GOOD" allows 133 minutes of record time on a single layer DVD ... "BETTER"=109 minutes "BEST"=93 minutes
... I highly recommend this product

The converter is real easy to use and does in fact convert from VHS to computer nicely. The software on the other hand is slow and the instructions are less than adequate. For simple DVD authoring, it is pretty straight forward, but if you want to do anything more complex, it's not the easiest program to use. It is also very, slow. Granted, I only have 512 Mram, which is the minimum, but that is very slow.
Even though, it is considered the Platinum version, the software doesn't have everything included. If you want most of the additional, you'll have to buy the upgrades.
The product does what I purchased it for and I'll be looking at some other software to perform the actual editing.

I was so excited to be getting something that I really wanted. I love putting vido items together and thought it would be just what I needed. After I got it downloaded and went thru the tutorial I decided that it was time to put it to work. That's when I discovered that I didn't have enough memory. I still haven't got to use it. I am sure that it is a wonderful product, but right now it is just here! I will re-write this when I can afford to get the additional memory to run it.
