5 out of 5 stars Great product - based on the feature set.   August 9, 2006

I used the older version of this - the Dazzle DVC130, which only has hardware encoding for MPEG1 & MPEG2. Great product and as this product comes with MPEG4 & DivX hardware encoding I would recommend this to anyone interested in home video capture. Only one question in my mind - does this encode both for both PAL and NTSC video standards? If so this would be one of the best video capture options around for this price range.

5 out of 5 stars Perfect Tool   August 5, 2006

This little device was the perfect tool for me. I wanted something to help me convert stuff I Tivo'ed to my computer. This way I could watch stuff on my laptop. My laptop also does not have a built in dvd player (its an ultraportable and requires an external dvd player), so having all this video on my hard drive really helps alot!!!

The set up was very easy. I just did the software installation off the cd, and plugged it in to my laptop and the s-video and audit outputs of my tivo....and voila. It took a few minutes to configure the software, but once set, this device was cake. So far so good!

1 out of 5 stars Dazzle -- Junk   August 4, 2006

Junk - I bought it to convert old tapes -- couldn't get it to finalize the DCD properly -- got it to work once out of 10 tries (& hours later) -- then took it back. The support for Dazzle is almost non-existent -- website isn't clear, & when I did an email -- the automated reply was to go to the website, status of the support issue was closed. Junk.

5 out of 5 stars Very pleased   July 27, 2006

Very pleased with the Dazzler and included software. It installed easily and very intuitive to use. After a few minutes, I was converting old home movies from VHS tape to DVD and adding voiceover annotation. Over all, excellent value!

5 out of 5 stars Dazzle works quickly and intuitively - editting and direct copies VHS to DVD   July 5, 2006

I bought this to capture high school basketball games from old VHS tapes, edit them on my PC, then create multiple DVDs of the result. It worked very quickly and easily. The conversion from VHS to PC was a piece of cake: plug and play. The "capture" process presented frames for fine editting done just by sliding frame brackets. Didn't play much with titles, captions etc, but I will soon. Then created multiple DVD copies of the final editted "movie" I created - just kept feeding in blank DVDs and pressing "go". Also copied VHS tapes directly to my PC DVD-writer and that was fast and simple as well. I am delighted with the simplicity. Of course separately I did have to buy a DVD burner for my Dell laptop, cuz I didn't have one before. But now I am all set to move all my home movies from VHS and video camera, for editing on my PC, to write to DVD.
