Pretty Good Podcasting Production Tool October 24, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've been using Adobe Audition since I started production of my podcast, GET FIT POD, about a year ago. I recently upgraded to Adobe Audition 3. I had no experience with audio production software prior to using Audition. It is a very difficult product for the novice to learn, but well worth the time. If you have the time to deal with the learning curve (about 8 weeks, 8 episodes for me) it is well worth it.
The great selection of pre-sets for the different effects are very beneficial for podcast production. Somebody needs to write the book "Adobe Audition Made Easy for Podcasters", or "Adobe Audition for Dummies".
Auditon 3 Not worth it May 28, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I returned the Adobe Audition 3 after running it and finding it not up to the standards I expect in my studio. The new midi addition was not what I expected. The ReWire was not what I expected. Audition since version 1, in my opinion, has never been much of an improvement over Cool Edit Pro that it replaced. Files save in a new format likely creating compatibility issues. I need a program for Vista 64 bit as well and this one will not cut it. So I sent it back.
Not ready for prime time April 20, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I began editing audio using CoolEdit and then progressed to Audition 1 when Adobe bought the company. I was running version 1.5 when I decided to upgrade to 3.0. I should have saved my money.
Audition 3 is much slower to load than 1.5. It does have some nice additions but at the same time it has been a bit unstable on my machine (Windows XP SP2). My screen frequently flickers as Audition updates displays. The audio card configuration seems to change for no reason and I must reset the hardware preferences to get it back.
At the moment I have both 1.5 and 3.0 on my computer and I am trying to work through the issues with 3.0 in hopes of resolving my complaints should they be related to my hardware.
I would rate version 3.0 as a Beta release with issues that should have been resolved before releasing it to the public.
Necessity is a Mutha February 8, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
If you upgraded to Audition from Cool Edit Pro you know the drill. 2.0 caused some workflow discrepancies but worse yet, still lacked a lot of necessay features that would bring it up to the function level of others- Sonar, Cubase etc. Mainly sequencer and VSTi plug in support, which are addressed in this upgrade. That's pretty much it.
