Worth the wait August 24, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I was waiting for a program like this. Whenever I burned disks I wished that I could do batch processing for video files, especially since they need encoding. If not conversion, then at least compression too. I can tag the files and let them run instead of checking after each file is done and tagging the next. Burning has come down to one click too. This is the easiest program I've tried in spite of the numerous features. Toast doesn't have the editing programs that the pc equivalent does, EMC so I do much of editing there. But it does have a directors cut which has enough to streamline video clips.
CD Spin Doctor in Roxio Toast 9 August 24, 2008 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Now that I have converted from PC to Mac, I purchased Toast 9 for the Spin Doctor application. I have a Kenwood turntable with a pre-amp that I use to convert my vinyl albums to digital. Spin Doctor works great for this purpose and has many improved features when compared to previous versions of Roxio for the PC. One of the best features is the ability to export directly into iTunes. I've played around with some of the DVD capabilities in Toast 9, but I cannot attest to any of those functions.
Toast With Marmalade August 24, 2008 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Toast 9 was an Amazon Gold Box deal when I purchased it. Great price, so I purchased it on a whim. Having used it now, I would have gladly paid full price for it. It has functioned flawlessly writing DVDs, copying discs and creating CDs. There are lots of bells and whistles I haven't tried yet. I've read reviews mentioning issues some have with version 9, but it has performed perfectly on my Intel based Macbook .

nifty software August 21, 2008 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Does just what it is supposed to do, and does it wonderfully. I would have given it 5 stars but it was lacking a feature that is important to me which is dvd menu editing. the dvd menus on toast are pretty lame. i guess for that i'll stick to using iDVD.
