If you are looking to clean an invected machine, this product alone probably won't help. If you are looking to secure a machine there are better options.
Your computer will slow down 20-30% after install and updates are HUGE! Look into Webroot products, you'll be much better off. Avast is amazing too.

McAfee (and apparently most of the other national brands AV suites) are abandoning their base by no longer supporting the Win 95 and even 98. The current products will not even install at all, and AV updates to the installed legacy products are not available.
So when you do upgrade, the bells and whistles eat up your resources to the point the system is unsuable, if not down right unstable. Many folks that I have spoken to (since I purchased this product) said that they have had to unistall it. What the userbase needs is a product that protects them without the cutesy stuff and will support them for a few more years. I have a few more good years on my Y2K computer and won't be driven to a $3,000 upgrade for $45 AV software.

MaAfee security system made our computer inoperable.I had to email customer service from neighbor's computer. After seventeen emails back and forth with customer service we decided to uninstall since the problem could not be fixed. They would not refund our money for the second half of the year. Then when the year was up they charged our credit card for a second years service, I did not notice this charge, once I noticed they would not refund because it was past 30 days. I had to pay for 2 years of service and only received 6 months of headaches!!

This is a excellent price for the security of knowing that a virus is blocked from invading your computer. It is annoying to have all the pop ups but all the virus protection programs have them.

I do not have a single complaint for McAfee software I like every since I used it. It scan, and found stuff that I thought was not on my computer... Thank It is worth the buy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
