5 out of 5 stars A great tool for beginners   June 23, 2008

If you are a descent software user, the kind of person who enjoys learning applications, then I recommend Dreamweaver CS3. I used this software to build my first website [...] and I would not have been able to do it without this software. Yes, there are other products but this one allowed me to create a fully functioning website without having had any prior html experience.

5 out of 5 stars A must upgrade   June 4, 2008
1 out of 1 found this review helpful

The advantages of the upgrade are seemingly endless. Some of the more important features are: better conversion of word docs, copy-and-paste functionality from other programs, and updates to PHP and ASP.net features. We use Dreamweaver CS3 exclusively at [...]. Two thumbs way up!

2 out of 5 stars AAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH   February 24, 2008

Having been forced by Mr. Bill Gates's disastrous Windows Vista rollout to upgrade from my previous version of Dreamweaver, with which I was pretty happy, I am encountering nothing but anger, frustration and dissatisfaction with Adobe over CS3. At the moment I am jumping through their hoops trying to get tech help through their labyrinthine online support, and am just about finished before I have even gotten started. The product itself is fine for the task; too bad about their evasive and infuriating disinclination toward support. Aargh aargh aargh.

4 out of 5 stars Powerful but where's the manual?   November 8, 2007

This is a strong update. Since Adobe bought Macromedia, DW works best with their products. Powerful, nicely laid out, and fairly intuitive, but I wish it had a manual. Had to buy a "Missing Manual" book, which I highly recommend as an auxiliary reference.
Overall, DW retains its title as king (or queen) of web development software.

1 out of 5 stars Are you kidding !? TERRIBLE SOFTWARE!   October 26, 2007

Anyone who rates this software above a 2 is probably a very low end user. This software is *slower* and *buggier* (if possible) than Macromedia Studio 8.

If you're using Studio 8 please listen, don't upgrade. It's throwing away money. Flash cs3 seems to be a great product so far, but as far as dreamweaver goes there's just NO REASON to *downgrade* to CS3.

I'm a professional Software Engineer working in Web Development since 1999.
