5 out of 5 stars Good Product   September 6, 2008
I like Norton Internet Security because it performs as expected. I heard too many bad things about Norton 360 so I went with this one and it's a recommended product. Ive had it for well over a month now and no problems yet. It keeps my internet and PC safe.

5 out of 5 stars works well even with Vista 64   September 5, 2008
like the product....wish it was a little more editable but it is effective and it works well with other programs unlike some of the other major players and works well on a Vista 64 based system.

5 out of 5 stars Good Product; Better than NOD32   September 1, 2008
I tried one year of NOD32 and although it is fast, it does not detect viruses very well. Norton Internet Security has been great at detecting viruses. Bad thing is that it slows down your system quite a bit.

1 out of 5 stars Buyer Beware!   August 30, 2008
I should have known better based on my very bad experience with Norton security about five years ago, but I needed a firewall and thought spyware protection would be a good thing to have. I already run Macafee anti-virus and had no desire to replace what was clearly working without any problems.

I got a good deal on NIS2008 (via rebates) and thought what the heck. The first problem was that there was no custom install. You got everything, period. The install made it most of the way through and hung. Subsequent attempts to do anything to modify the install or configuration hung. Attempts to run live update hung. Attempts to uninstall, using the uninstall option (from Start/Programs/Norton ...) hung. I located the Norton Removal Tool and downloaded it. I ran it and it just hung. By "hung" I mean the processing started, producing a new Window if appropriate, and then just sat there doing nothing for as long as I cared to let it continue.

I attempted to contact Norton support via the web chat option. The chat window opened and ... you guessed it ... hung.

This piece of garbage is like a massive virus that defies all attempts at removing it. I've wasted hours trying to do so with no results so far. My final hope is the Norton NIS user forum.

I'll certainly never again allow anything from Symantec to be placed on my system.
