4 out of 5 stars Norton Protects   August 25, 2008
Purchased Norton Internet Security 2008 for 3 users. Good since we have more than 3 computers. Easy to load on XL harder to on Vista.

5 out of 5 stars Great software, great support..   August 19, 2008

I purchased NIS 2008 after reading some reviews and found that it runs good on my system without taking up unnecessary resources or bogging it down. Install was straight-forward although the program itself has a few quirks and minor setbacks. Ie. setting a custom scan with the antivirus program takes some figuring out and a full system scan isn't run unless you go into this option and ask for it.
Otherwise, I am happy with the program so far and haven't found any real setbacks.

5 out of 5 stars Still the leader in security   August 17, 2008
I have other security products on my home desktop and laptop in addition to this, but Norton continues to offer a very robust and diligently maintained antivirus system, and a strong firewall that can be tailored to meet the needs of users across the spectrum, from those who wish to be involved in every decision to those who wish to "set it and forget it." Every year, I consider other firewalls and other antivirus programs, and every year, I buy this one. And when I buy security products for my friends, I always choose Norton Internet Security. Useful parental controls and anti-spam features are available as a free download from the Norton site, so be sure to avail yourself of those if you need them.

5 out of 5 stars As advertized.   August 15, 2008
No problems with the install. My firewall settings were defaulted and it took me a couple of minutes to figure out why I couldn't access my media center computer but after that, all good. New GUI is pretty. No slowness issues as reported by others, running now for almost a month. New version detects tracking cookies. I would recommend this product.

1 out of 5 stars Promises everything but delivers little   August 12, 2008

Norton looks so professional.....it ends there. NIS actually performs OK at best, but it has failed me for the last time. I am now in search of a product which can protect me from such simple things like Blackster.exe, the About:blank hijack; neither of which NIS provided any protection from. In addition, tech support is nearly non-exsistent. The company refers you to its website for menu-driven troubleshooting. If the menu gives you a proposed solution that does not fix your problem, they apologize but provide no other solutions. As for me, I have a non-functional version of NIS 2008 which refuses to load or update correctly. It all seemed so simple at first....buy, install, use...NOT! F--- Norton!
