2 out of 5 stars Not worth the money   April 10, 2008

The only reason I give this two stars is because I'm nice and it installed without problems. After that, it was everything but...
Outlook Express would hang every time. The software did something to my video driver software and so any graphics based software which included games would no longer work. I know it was the Trend Micro software since each time I uninstalled, everything worked just fine. I'll give customer support one thing, they would return my e-mails, but they couldn't figure out what the problem was. No suggestions they sent back worked. I've never had a problem with an anti-virus before this. I think they need to take their software and start over.

4 out of 5 stars A very user-friendly product   April 6, 2008

I installed Trend Micro Internet Security 2008 on our family's main PC. The laptop is running all free software (AV, Firewall, Antispware), in contrast. Installation of Trend's IS suite was easy and the startup was flawless. I detected no noticeable drag on the system, and a firewall test run at the "Shields Up" test site showed that port blocking was excellent. The firewall went through the normal learning period with the PC's programs with no issues.

The only feature missing was "online game mode" setting which can be found in some other security suites.

Considering the price for which I bought this suite at Amazon, I believe it was a very good product for a bargain.

1 out of 5 stars Absolute disaster!   April 4, 2008

Upgraded from Trend Micro Internet Security 2007 and what a waste of money! I've used the Trend Micro products for the last few years and had a great experience, no problems, no issues...period. This new product for 2008 will not even install correctly and I would not recommend it to anyone.

3 out of 5 stars Trend Micro Internet Security 2008 3 user   April 2, 2008
Trend Micro Internet Security 2008 - 3 User

I Love this utility software! It is easy to use and does not use all your system resources.
Installation on non Vista systems is however a challenge. On the plus side I found the support to be very good.

1 out of 5 stars TM used to work, doesn't now.   April 2, 2008

So disapopinted. After starting with TM back in 2006, where it worked well, upgrading to 2007 which worked fine too - basically since already having paid for 2008 I simply can't upgrade on any of the 3 machines.

Unfortunately, tech support was no help. They tried, bless 'em, but couldn't.

First problem was some message that I have Norton or McAfee installed (I forget which). I don't. Still, tried their removal tool - didn't work of course, because I don't have either installed.

Anyway having left this for a few months out of sheer frustration, tried again to upgrade. This time, the infamous "Unable to update your protection. Make sure your internet connection works before trying again." Well guess what, it works, which is how I get to write this.

Unfortunately I need to go through the painful search for a new anti-virus software that's as light as TM used to be, plus deal with the lag which will no doubt be left behind with yet another software removal on a windows machine. The whole experience has... I hate to say it.. made me think of installing a Linux distribution on some of my office machines to circumvent any problems like these.
