I've been using Fusion for about 3 weeks now. I am a designer that needs to work on a Mac and PC, so this product has come in handy. I am not a network professional (but know enough to really screw things up) and I didn't run into any issues installing this product. Fusion creates a nice little PC environment on your Mac, BUT Fusion is not going to run like the latest and greatest PC. The convenience of not having to switch physical macines as well as run Office 2007 and IIS is great. If you are on a Mac(intel based) and need to work in Windows some of the time, this is a great alternative to buying a PC.

Now that Macintosh and PC's share the same underlying hardware architecture, you got one of the best computer platforms to run multiple operating systems. I currently have Win XP HE, Linux Red Had 3 64, and Win XP 64 set up as virtual machines. I spend most of my time on OSX, but with VMware, I can load most any OS and run some of my proprietary PC based work programs. I also find that multi-tasking is smoother when OSX is in control than it is on a Windows based PC. I can load up what normally is a computer intensive task running under Win XP in the VMware and carry on doing other things on the Mac or another VM session. OSX purrs along and the computer remains responsive. At work on a similarly equipped Core 2 Duo PC it boggs down and grinds away.
If you need to run multiple operating systems, VMware Fusion works great and with the unity mode, you hardly know the difference.

I just recently switched to a Mac and needed to run PC software not available for a MAC. I purchased Fusion and I love it just as much as I love my Mac. I am not computer savvy and I bought a Mac because of the ease of use. Fusion is just like everything else for a Mac, It was easy to install, it was easy to install Windows XP and running XP as a window on my Mac works without any issues. I definteley recommend this product!

It is a unique product for seamless software integration on the Mac platform. The software can come from virtually any 32 or 64 bit Intel based OS.

Compared with Parallels Desktop (the only other virtual machine software available for the mac as far as I know), this product is as stable and provides better performance.
In my case, I bought this product because I occasionally have to use images created by other people in the company that use vmware on the PC, and this saves me from having to convert images from the vmware format to the parallels format (a straightforward but lengthy operation).
