1 out of 5 stars Worst Game There EVER Was or Will Be.   August 18, 2008

Do not even think about getting this game, if you are, than first of all look at the date i wrote this, now look at most of the dates of the good ratings, 90% of them are VERY old, the game play is horrible, i am not sure what blizzard was thinking when they made this, no heroes?!?! no main characters to level or anything good? just plain old boring repetition throughout the whole game, if amazon would let me i would make my rating negative, i think i would of had more fun burning the money it cost me.

Game play: how low will it let me?
replay value: good luck getting through the first time without dieing boredom....
graphics: is that a unit or the ground?
overall value: absolutely none

In conclusion, go buy pong, trust me, you'll have a much better time, heck u would have a better time burning your money than buying this piece a crud game.

Spectacular game. Just a killer waiting for the second. But a must have for all gamers.

5 out of 5 stars By FAR the best RTS game ever made.   July 14, 2008

Starcraft is amazing. Not only is starcraft considered one of if not the best real time strategy (rts) game of all time, but possibly the national pasttime for Korea. This game is the only rts i have ever played with its possibilities of strategy, style, and adaptability. Starcraft is also the only rts in my perspective who has no single race (faction) who dominates, or has a 'rigged' unit, seen in many other RTS games. Starcraft is simply amazing. I have played this game since 1998, and it never gets old. if you consider yourself a person who likes to have fun, then i wouldnt understand why you wouldnt buy this game.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome game   June 18, 2008

I've played pretty much all the games Blizzard made except this one. I bought this a month ago and it is awesome. Even though the graphics are from 1998, they're not bad. Great story and great campaign missions. I wish current RTS games would stick with great linear campaigns like this game did (read: the Dawn of War expansions).

5 out of 5 stars THIS IS WHY LIMITED INSTALLATIONS IS A TERRIBLE IDEA!   May 18, 2008

Over the last 10 years that I first installed STARCRAFT I have replayed it countless of times. Every time a new overhyped game disappoints me, this is one of the games I pull out of my library to be reminded what a GREAT PC GAME LOOKS & PLAYS LIKE! (others include UNREAL, BALDUR's GATE, GRIM FANTANGO and SHOGUN:TOTAL WAR)

Everyone has his/her favorite RTS and no one can claim that STARCRAFT introduced the futuristic RTS genre (that would be DUNE). Nevertheless, the great, crisp and clear graphics, the balanced units and the strategic terrain all contributed into turning STARCRAFT into a true classic. This is a game that passed the test of time, not only because its aging graphics are still acceptable but also because it is one of those games that stays with you. Forever.

So, the next time some gaming industry MBA (who probably could not tell an RTS from an cRPG) tables the idea of LIMITED INSTALLATIONS, what he will have primarily accomplished is to have his game forgotten within a year.
