5 out of 5 stars OneCare works for me!   August 20, 2008
If I listened to folks at the retail outlets, I would have never bought Windows Live OneCare... they wanted me to buy other products. But I wanted to try it myself and see. Well, it has not disappointed, in fact, it has met and exceeded my expectations. I am a Norton Anti-Virus user... but their subscriptions are only available for 1 computer. I just purchased a laptop and did not want to have to buy 2 subscriptions for my pc & laptop each year.. which is what attracted me to the Windows Live OneCare in the first place. I have since installed it on both and am thrilled so far with the ease of use, security, and when it runs its scans... it DOES NOT interrupt what I'm doing or bog my computer down like Norton used to. I really enjoy the "tune-up" feature for my pc, which is old... and the tune-up does improve its performance in ways I would never get from Norton... now OneCare does it all. You won't be disappointed.

Windows Live OneCare 2.0
This is the best anti virus and computer secureity software that I have used. Automatically keeps your computer running at peak performance , allows you to keep track of performance on all computers in your one care circle. I fully Recommend this software.

5 out of 5 stars Trouble free and not bothersome   August 16, 2008
I have used OneCare since it was released by Microsoft and had a few bugs. They have been incrementally improving the product and adding little things here and there. It is extremely unobtrusive compared to other suites I have used.

The best feature is that you can run the software on three different computers and it will monitor the status of those three machines and notify me if there is an issue on any of them with the simple green, yellow, or red color of the tray icon.

Simple printer sharing is also built in and I've been pleasantly surprised by how good Microsoft managed to make this product.

Definitely recommended.

5 out of 5 stars Wow!   August 14, 2008
with all the security suites out there today few stand out, and this is one of those few. easy install, easy setup, and doesn't use too many resources or slow down your computer unlike many others. and currently only $20...get this, it is perhaps the best thing out there right now

5 out of 5 stars Suprisingly good offering from Microsoft   August 12, 2008
I have this software currently installed on my whole family network at home (four PC's, all windows machines). I have been very happy with what the program does, and how it does it.

Some of the features I really like:

- I have my personal PC set up as the master pc, and it displays the status of all PC's on my network. If a pc didn't back up, if it missed an update, the print que is clogged -- all of those things trigger a easily seen message on my toolbar that I can react to.
- Software updates and scans are very unobtrusive.
- The program enables printer sharing amongst the network without any special work on my part.
- You can scan background system cleanup (disk defrag, eliminate temp files, etc) on a schedule automatically.
- Backups can be automated within the network, with all PC's sharing one common drive, or using individual hard drives. I have one of each situation on my network, and it works like a charm.

Not that everything is perfect. I wish I could have more control over the backups, particularly exactly what files back up, and such, and some times the printer sharing can be a challenge with older printers. But, for the most part, it's very solid software that hasn't been very visible to the other members of the family. Just what i needed.
