Microsoft Office for Mac October 23, 2007 The microsoft office for mac is wonderful! Its very similar to the office for windows, so it's not hard to getting accostumed to it. On the surface: the box is cute! and I love the bubbly icons as opposed to the flat icons on windows. But other than that everything is pretty much the same and its wonderful! (of course... its mac)
Isn't there something better? October 20, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Word is the standard. Not because its the best, but because its Microsoft. There are lots of tasks that are easier and definitively more intuitive in almost ANY other word processor, but the Microsoft domination makes Word the standard.
For example, I have followed certain Help instructions in Word and........ they just don't work. They don't work. They do not work. I got it from the Help Viewer. I didn't work. But that's Word.
Or... looking for the envelope printer..... its under tools....tools, like, spellchecker and thesaurus and dictionary and word count.... and a format based printing helper for envelopes. Doesn't make sense to me....
It is certainly competent. But not especially good.
User friendly software package October 19, 2007 After haveing used Office 04 Student & Teacher for our old Dell, we have been using the Mac verion on our new iMac 20. If you not used to the interface of iWorks, I suggest getting the Office for the Mac. One main reason: all of your old docs you created prior to migrating over to Mac can be open with Office for Mac. iWorks dosn't help worth a c#$%@. Its word interface is Pages. You can't cross interface these documents. They suck. Hope this helps.
