I have been using card programs for years; being able to personalize a card to a family member or friend means a lot to the person that receives it and I enjoy making it personal. I had no trouble at all with the installation of this program. I have windows Vista. The cards and clip art are great, I emblish the cards with glue glitter & cut some cards with my scallop or wavy cutter.

After reading the review of the problems about disk #5 I thought I'd give it a shot since time had pasted. Unfortunately when I tried to install the software I didn't get past Disk #1. I sent an email to technical support, but still haven't received an email back. I called technical support and they told me to go out and buy a disk drive cleaner ($11). I did, but it turned out to be a bad disk. I called technical support again and they said that they would send me a disk, but if I didn't get in by the end of next week to call them again since his computer just locked up. I spent over 2 hours on the phone waiting for technical support and customer service to get no where. DON'T BUY THIS SOFTWARE!!!

I know of some Spanish-speaking people and had scoured the Internet for a card-creating software that allowed me to create cards in Spanish. I finally thought I had found one in the new Hallmark Card Studio 2008 Deluxe. They do in fact have many Spanish cards for various occasions--all except what many of us would consider one of the biggest occasions of the year, Christmas. I emailed them asking where these were, and got a response saying Hallmark offerred no Spanish cards in their software, which isn't true. I finally called and spoke with someone in tech support and asked if he didn't think that a bit unusual that they had cards for every occasion except Christmas, and his reply was, "No, not really." Obviously they want us to go out and buy those, but I'm so perturbed, I'll use my Spanish minor and what I have in my own repertoire to make my own. Feliz Navidad, everyone.

The problem with disc 5 that earlier reviewers reported seems to have been resolved. Amazon was out of stock for a while, but my back order shipped 11/27/07 and arrived today with all 5 discs installing with no problem.
If you are looking for a good card-making program, I can recommend this one highly. My only disappointments are:
(1)There are not many new cards to choose from since the 2007 version, at least in the birthday and anniversary categories I tend to use most often.
(2) Hallmark has not included many new sounds or additional music to use with the e-mail option.
So if you already have the 2007 Deluxe edition, this version may not be worth the extra expense.
When I installed the 2007 version on a Vista computer, the font selection screen displayed strangely, with many extra blank lines between each font type listed; I no longer have that minor problem with the 2008 version.
CD 5 Broken... Can't install software November 7, 2007

Just like the reviewer above, my CD 5 is broken. This is a known error. They apparently shipped a large batch of these with defective CD 5. If you call the tech support number, which isn't toll free, they'll ship you another CD for free. It's not a deal breaker but extremely annoying. Hopefully you guys have better luck.
