4 out of 5 stars Wife likes it!   September 5, 2008
TomTom ONE 3rd Edition 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Vehicle Navigator
I bought this for my wife and she is electronically challenged.........She loves the Tom Tom for its user friendliness. I like it because of the price.

3 out of 5 stars Pretty Good except Text to Speech   September 4, 2008
I recently purchased a Tom Tom One at the same time that a friend bought a Navigon with Text to Speech for about $50 more. The text to speech is a huge advantage. We took both on a recent trip and it was amazing how often the Tom Tom "Turn Right" voice command led to confusion over which street to turn on. The Navigon telling us the street to turn on was much easier to follow.

I really wish I had done more research on GPS options.

4 out of 5 stars Pretty Good   September 4, 2008
The Tom Tom ONE 3rd Edition was our first GPS system. Some glitches, but it always got us to our destination. Would be nice to have the next turn announced sooner in case you were in the high speed
lane at speed. Would also be nice to have a consistant "recomputing"
message verbalized instead of briefly texted. "Turn right in two miles
in two miles" seems to be some default message when the unit is "confused". But, it is a base unit, and it always delivered the
goods, which is why I bought it in the first place. I would recommend
it to anybody that does not need all the doo-dads. It works fine.

5 out of 5 stars Trip through the US   September 1, 2008
I'm doing a trip through the USA in September with my wife. Due to the fact that she is not the best scout I preferred to buy a navigator. I know that navigator from my company car and I ordered it to my mother in law.
For me this product is one of the best to the price alone with the maps you can update or buy other countries, like Europe for example.
