3 out of 5 stars somewhat disapointed   July 6, 2008

I am a truck driver who bought the teletype 710060 gps.The features I like are the big screen and the ability to program the size trailer you have,53 or 48 foot,12.6 or 13.6 and the weight.Last week I was making multi stop deliveries in Philly and I truely depended on it for directions. It found all stops that had good addresses, but it lead me throu some develepments that I barley could make turns and had signs for no trucks over 4 tons. I had a 48 footer but programed a 53`.The biggest drawback of the 710060 is the voice.I turned the volume all the way up,tried both male and female voices, tried running it throu the fm radio, shut the jakes and still could not understand the garbbeled sound.very very poor audio. The next drawback is there is no battery back up,if you hit the cig liter by mistake you lose everything you programed in and must pull over and retype all information again. The external antenna is a joke, very flimsey hook up.I was in the Scranton area on the Gov. Bob Casey Hwy (about 6-7 years old)and the unit had no clue where it was, needs more recent maps.I don't trust it 100% but its all that I found for trucks.
