excellent product! May 9, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
My friends got me into geocaching, and they both had this unit so i figured it was a good place to start. After reading all the reviews, it definitely stood out as one of the best units, and after buying it, it is undoubtedly an excellent product. My ONE complaint with this unit, is the 30 character limit on the notes. In today's day and age where you can buy the micro-SD cards in gigabyte sizes, there really is no excuse for that. Otherwise, i have absolutely no concerns or problems with this unit. It is easy to use, and solidly built. Definitely a recommended unit!
Garmin 60CSx May 8, 2008 This product is all that it's cracked up to be. I had purchased a Nuvi 660, but it's not designed fro geocaching, the 60CSx fills the bill.
Garmin 60CSx May 5, 2008 I bought this unit for hunting and it exceeded my expectations. However the map on this unit has no detail. When buying this unit one will need to get the topo map along with it.
Garmin 2008 Topo Map of Souteast May 2, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I just recieved my Garmin GPS 60CSx and after some help from Garmin, the help was good, installed the Topo 2008 for the Southeast.
I live on a Lake which is over 200 acres and has been in the area and a part of the Geography here in the Alpharetta,GA area since around 1980.
So, where is the lake? its not on the map, yet it has been here for 25 years. All the map shows is a stream that runs through the area.
If this map is this poor, its not going to help me go where I need to go. This is in a word unacceptable!
You can rely onthis one. May 2, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have now used this GPS in three states, and in all kinds of cover and weather situations and it just works like a charm. I loaded the map microSD, and while there may be about a 100 foot or so error, it has not only gotten me where I needed to go, it got me back again. On two missing person searches it also downloaded the tracks we moved on. I have a basic eTrex and an eTrex Legend as well, and this one is lots easier to use when you are on the move.
