Good to Go July 5, 2008 I was a little concerned that I would have issues with the Garmin at first because I am technically challenged. However, I was able to use the product right after charging it. I love the downloads to my PC which helps my training. I have already used the product during some road races and the pace features has helped me meet my goals. I have yet to use all the features but I am very happy so far. This is a great product for the price.
Great! Gives a virtual outdoor gym experience July 1, 2008 I'm impressed by the accuracy and sensitivity of this equipment. I went for a jog with this recently when I just receive it. The distance tracking is great with very good accuracy. It can be configured to stop the timer once you stop or jog on the spot due to various reasons like traffic light/ road junction waiting time. Just this distance, pace, and timing feature of this watch is already worthwhile for any runners to invest in.
In the past, I have always enjoyed running on the trackmill machine in the gym just because its able to give me the distance that I have ran. But now, you can do it outdoor and enjoy the scenery while monitoring your distance, pace, calories burned, etc.
Great!
Great for training June 27, 2008 This is just what I needed to help me with my training...It's easy to use and helps me keep track of my real time pace and weekly miles. I definitely would recommend this product to the beginner and novice runner...
Excellent watch June 22, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Very good watch. Does exactly what you need to time and pace your runs. The only downside is that it's a bit big, and sometimes it takes about one minute to pick up initial satellite reception. I have found that if I lay the watch on a bench while stretching, it picks up signal quicker. I bought this to train for a marathon, and I would definetely recommend the product to any runner.
Great help for tracking workout & travel June 21, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I use this watch primarily for inline skating. It is really good and once you get the latest version of the training center, it is good value and gives you good information. You can upload the routes you go to Google Earth, which is cool, but it slows the loading of Google Earth down sooo much, it is unbearable. Battery life is about 10 hours, which I find way to little - I would pay more for better batteries. (reason for losing 1 star) I have som,e problems with the altitude meter - Often I stand at a beach and it says I am 7 meters below water. Maybe the accuracy is +/- 10 meters, which is then OK for measuring speed, but not when tracking activities along a coast or on water. I use the watch all over the world to keep track of where I travel, and it works fine for this also. (especially useful when crossing a desert) And I have used the watch in Helicopters and airplanes, and it records all movements, routes, and speeds fine. I don't have problems with losing satellite connection when in a forest or a city. If I should wish something from Garmin, it would be: - Better battery life - Water proof for Scuba/snorkel
