outstanding product - I was in the midst of a GPS Adult Ed class when I purchased this product. As this is same unit that we used in class it is very helpful. Just add maps for the area that you need and go.

I received the product on time and in good condition. It was described accurately and works fine.
Phenomenal GPS January 18, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
For the low price I paid for the Garmin GPSMap 76CSx thru Amazon, I fully expected it to be a refurbished unit. Appeared to be brand new from the packaging. Truely phenomenal device. Does everything except talk to me (and maybe I just haven't figured that part out yet). Have been using another Garmin handheld for about the past ten years... reliable, but a dinosaur compared to the technology in this one. Can't say enough good things about this. Would recommend it without hesitation (in fact, I already have).

Excellent product. Flawless design and unit works very well. Replaces my GPS-12 (which worked well for what it was) and the 76CSx is somwhat similar to my old unit so learning the new one was a snap.
Standard map is very basic but will be fine for travelling on major highways. I opted for the City Navigator NT and a 2G memory card. The whole City Navigator (all of USA plus some) takes up a little more than 1G.
Reception is outstanding in the car, or even in my house. Anywhere outside it picks up strong signals. I use it in the car and out while riding my bike to keep track of where I went.
I highly recommend this unit.

This unit does everything Garmin says it will do and does it flawlessly. Battery draw down time is very exceptable even in cold weather. We have gotten it soaked with snow and ice. The first day we had it I hid twelve gifts in deep woods in a twenty acre area. I set waypoints for each gift and erased my tracks. Even in fast falling, blowing, and drifting snow my kids where able to navigate to all twelve gifts within an hour. What a blast. I strongly recommend adding Garmins Mapsource City Navigator for on road adventures. The unit gives extremely accurate on road directions (in print-no voice)and seems very up to date at least for our area in Wisconsin. I also purchased the optional external antenne for my vehicle, which is perfect. The unit even receives well next to a window without the external antenne, at least in fairly open areas. Even in severe weather and cloud cover it seems accurate within about twelve feet. I really can't say enough good about this GPS. It is slightly more expensive than some of the lesser units, but WELL WORTH the cost.
