5 out of 5 stars Tickled pink (blue)   January 4, 2008
Cant say much more than whow. it really works. only thing I havent figured out is the up dates over the internet? But Im slow to learn. and the up date maps are really to expensive ordering by mail from factory.. near $70.00 and there are a few places around here that has been here for quite a while that it dosent know about. but I just pick one near by and it gets me there quite nicely. for the money you cant go wrong, hoping to go somewhere I dont know and really see how it works. Oh it seems to think I live on the right side of the street when I really live on the left. Oh well google maps says the same thing. Maybe I do live on the wrong side???l.o.l.
have fun.

bought a refurbished one from fry's. it never locates satellites indoor and outside in open areas. I am in los angeles. had to return it, very disappointed.
pro: i like the interface, it is very smooth.

5 out of 5 stars There is no other   January 3, 2008
My Garmin got stolen out of my car a month ago which is why I had to get the same one. If you are going to various places of interest, it will give you the first one (closest one) first and then the further ones down the line. It gives you the miles from where you are which is very helpful. If you are in traffic, you can press a button called "Detour" and it will take you another way.
I have a built in GPS in my car (HYBRID) which takes forever to load and press button so this is a better and quicker way to program to go somewhere. I would NEVER get another product ever.

Comparing the tomtom1 3rd ed to the Garmin 330...

In Indiana, my new tomtom is receiving signals from up 8 satellites. My new Garmin c330 often loses a connection, leaving a void in usefulness, similar to a cell phone dead zone. I returned the 330 for a replacement 330 after one week and the replacement is similar in connectivity. The 330 is only connecting to one satellite at a time.

Operating as designed? Antenna Strength? Garmin? Who knows...

Both units function well when receiving a signal.
