 I'm impressed! And...how did I live without this toy? January 10, 2007
I'm on the road a lot in a regional sales role. Much of my travel is done by car. I burned so much time on mapquest every Sunday night that I needed to find a better solution to building a folder with point to point paper directions. I had used GPS in rental cars and decided to buy one.
I asked around a lot...and everyone pointed to Garmin as the device of choice. This is a very well designed GPS device. It's small (fits in a shirt's [...] pocket) yet powerful...and it seemlessly gets me where I need to be. The bluetooth/ hands free works well and is an added bonus. Points of interest are great...and it will find the nearest Starbuck's from wherever I am. It also quickly picks up the satellite GPS system so I'm not waiting around for it to boot up. The suction cup is fair..but I mounted it between the seats on the armrest and it works better for me that way (mounting disk was included).
I'm impressed, and have recommended this product to friends and assocciates alike.
Nuvi 360 January 9, 2007
before we got the nuvi 360 we got the magellan roadmate 2000. it didn't look cute so we returned it. then we found the nuvi. since we got the nuvi 360 we never go on the road without it. it is very handy and very user friendly. once it's turned on, it can quickly calculate destinations. but if you're just turning it on, it take some time to calculate directions. but overall, this is an awesome product, it is sleek.

Simple entry of destination. The ability to change the mode of transportation allows the software to tweak the route. Fast reaction to change in route. The different voices allow selection of the one you hear the best. The restaurant, hotel locators are great.
Better than what comes in the vehicles, other than screen size, at a much lower price plus you can walk around with it. Helps on cruises where you have limited time in port and don't have time to get lost. Worth the money.
Relaxed Driving January 9, 2007
Garmin Nuvi 560 We both love this little box. The size and shape is ideal for use both in the car and for hiking. The text to speech feature is not perfect, but is fine for driving without constantly looking at the unit. Our only complaint about this GPS is that some streets (not necessarily new ones) are not known to the maps or are inaccurate. Our own street falls into that category as does one of our cousin's. We appear on the screen as driving through blank terrain. Strangely, the cross streets are there and accurate! The problem seems to be with the map data since friends with different brands of GPS show the same problems. In all, we are very happy with this product and would encourage others to consider it.
Would Buy Again January 9, 2007
Excellent product. Compact enough to use in car and also while walking around (I sometimes use it find my car in huge parking lots at night). Frequently take it on trips to use in rentals or figure out where things are in a strange city. Maps are accurate and always get you there. Some glare on screen in bright sunlight and Bluetooth voice needs to be on maximum to hear in noisy car. Very easy to update software with Garmin Web Wizard.
