Get the best at the best deal place December 31, 2007 This was a recent anniversary present and I have to say it has fulfilled my expectations. Not to mention catching Amazon's Black Friday deal helped out my wife who bought it for me. Over Xmas we traveled out of state to spend time at a cabin in the mountains. Needless to say the Nuvi 660 got us right there even though it was dark and we were driving in fog we were never lost. Fast forward to Xmas eve. We just got out of Mass in Asheville and my wife remembered we needed eggs. It was past 6 pm and everything was closed. Punched in convenience stores and up they came with phone numbers. Called around and found one that was open until 8 pm and had eggs. No wasted time or gas. Just the best. The Nuvi also has great screen resolution and is simple to operate. Some things are not so intuitive so you need to play around with it and find where things are. Especially the points of interest. Example: rest stops are under the Auto services category. The only downside is that Travel advisories are paid subscription and they are pretty generic. Other manufacturers offer this service for free. These devices are not perfect especially at large interchanges and where roads have multiple designations, but all in all this beats a map and flashlight and saves you all the potential aggravation that goes with having a someone looking a map giving you directions while you are driving at 70 mph in a strange place. This is the best piece of electronics since the cell phone.
Not bad December 30, 2007 Our first real use of the 660 was a trip From Los Angeles to San Francisco. It's basic function is fine. The hands free phone option is quite useful as well as the guide to local restaurants. The guide to gas stations however was outdated as we found more than a couple that were either closed or no longer the same company. A station listed as Chevron was now another brand that I had never heard of.
My main criticism is, the voice would say stay to the left while on a freeway and at the very last minute would say take hwy 123 on the right. We barely had time to transition and that was because traffic was very light. In a high traffic situation it would have been impossible.
Another major challenge was in downtown San Francisco late at night. It was next to impossible to acquire the satellite signal because of all the tall buildings and we got totally lost.
Best Ever! December 30, 2007 Garmin nüvi 660 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator I purchased the Garmin on Nov 29 and it has come a long way. I love the fact that is simple to use and that it is a touchscreen version. It does have flaws; however. When I was driveing to a resturant the other night it was trying to route me down a one-way street the wrong way. I really like the Garmin 660 and I would buy it again.

compare to nuvi 350 this one a little lazy to get signals.garmin maps are somewhat old.they says that updated but as every unit ,this one guide to closed stores, turn to do not enter roads, and usually lost signals more than 350.
great widescreen gps December 30, 2007 got a great deal on it for 399.99, I'm very happy I went with the Nuvi 660 widescreen instead of the streetpilot C580 or Nuvi 350.... The attena and that you have to flip it up everytime to get a signal is the only thing that i don't like about it. Other than that it's great with way to many features for me.
