5 out of 5 stars Great Navigator, But Use Your Head   December 14, 2007

I got the Nuvi 660 from a Black Friday sale. I normally wouldn't have gone for one this big except for the deal. I'm glad I did as the extra space on the screen makes viewing while driving easier. Some of the pros I've noticed so far are fast (5 sec) rerouting if you can't make the turn it wants, good visibility and audible voice instructions. I haven't really played with the mp3, bluetooth or traffic system yet. The only real con I've experienced is that when I told the unit to return me home from a friend's house it took me on a different path than it brought me before and this path was a little indirect. It may have had to do with how it was setup for routing priority with regards to whether it chooses the shortest route or the quickest. Hence, like any mobile device, make sure you use your head when you use mobile electronics in your vehicle.

5 out of 5 stars I'm Impressed with Garmin Nuvi 660   December 14, 2007

I am very impressed with the performance and accuracy of the Garmin Nuvi 660 I recently purchased. I am in the service business and drive an average of 100 miles per day in and around the city. So far, I have not had to pull out my city map even once to find a customers house. The female voice has an occasional problem pronouncing some of the spanish named streets we have here, but then so do many of the newcomers to the area. I decided to drive the exact route the GPS suggested, and even discovered a few shortcuts I was not aware of. There have also been a couple times I deviated from the suggested route due to my personal knowledge of construction activity and the effect on local traffic. After recalculating, the Garmin had no problem changing over to the route I was currently using. I have every confidence after my local trial runs that this will be a huge help when trying to navigate in unfamiliar territory while on vacation. The POI's list a few places that are no longer in business, and are missing a few of the newer places, but overall quite accurate. I had no problem at all linking to my Bluetooth enabled phone, and find it very convienient to be able to dial a restuarant or store by just touching the number on the screen. Overall, I don't feel you can go wrong purchasing this GPS. Is it perfect? No, but neither are the local maps we purchase to find our way around. I have not had any prior experience with any other GPS navigation systems, but would not hesitate to purchase one of these again.

4 out of 5 stars newly retired and traveling!   December 12, 2007

I purchased this after many days of research and am very happy with the results.I am retired and on the road traveling to new and unknown destinations. So far the Garmin nuvi 660 has proven to very helpful for food& shelter, fuel and getting me back on track in unknown places. The text to speech is a must for easy travel. The bluetooth paired easily with my verizon Lg8300 phone. This is the first and last GPS anyone needs, one will never need to upgrade it does it all.The 4.3 In. widesreen is easily seen both day and night. The FM transmitter works well, and the whole package can not be beat.(no need for extras or add-ons comes with it!)Buy it you will like it I did!!!!!!!!!See you out there om the road.

5 out of 5 stars Garmin 600 Widescreen with bluetooth   December 11, 2007

This is one great tool that I don't know how I lived without. The bluetooth is really easy to set-up and it copies your phone book from your phone. Then also you have the capibility to place a call right from any of the thousands of Points of Interest. And if a POI is not in the listings you can add it along with the phone number. Awesome is all I can say. I just returned from a trip to Detiot MI. The Nuvi had a bit of a tuff time in that city but if you've ever been to Detriot you'll know why. Nothing bad about the city of Detriot but the frontage roads along the highways and some of the exits didn't match with the Nuvi. Not sure who was a fault on that one. I have not yet enabled the FM connection so I can't say a whole lot about it. But it does sound like a feature I'd be interested in. Overall this is one great tool. Highly recommended.
