The mount works as advertized. Very useful in my state that does not allow anything attached to the windshield. It stays where you put it and is very easy to move into place

Some things are so simple that you wonder why you didn't invent them yourself and live a life of splendid wealthy retirement on some south sea island. Such is the case with this friction mount. It is a sand bag with a mount. It works. It doesn't slide around. It can move from car to car with no hassle. What else can I say? I recommend it highly. Now I'm wondering how to adapt it to be a camera base!

Solid, functional dashboard mount for those in states (CA, MN, etc.) that don't allow devices to be attached to windshield. Some other advatages to this type of mount is that it is easy to pass my Nuvi 680 over to the passenger so that he/she can look for local spots to get gas, food, etc. or to look up a particular address while traveling. It is also easy to move the gps location over to the side at night to lessen the impact of the inside glare produced on my windshield (suggestion to Garmin: offer a removable "hood" for the Nuvi 6xx product line to eliminate the inside glare on windshields).

This item is great. After having the windshield suction cup fall off the windshield during a trip, I was looking for an alternative. This sits on your dash and doesn't slide around. Yet it is very easy to reposition.
The only downside is that it is a little big to tuck into the console when not in use.

I bought this mount to use with my new Nuvi 260 on a recent trip to northern West Virginia and southwestern Pennsylvania. It held the Nuvi in place quite nicely on the dash of our rented Malibu through the mountains in the area and on the hilly streets of Pittsburgh, PA.
