 No more dash problems January 30, 2008
Have used this everyday and have never had problems. Even during sharp turns this mount does not budge. Aside from the rather large footprint, this product delivers as promised.

In CA, the suction cup mounts are illegal, so I essentially had to purchase this. Having said that, I've found it to be very effective (no movement, can put it wherever I want). Simple, straightforward, easy.

Excellent Product! Received my friction mount (10908) last week and love everything about it. I have a Nuvi 260 GPS and didn't want to attach it to my window for obvious reasons, so chose the friction mount. Love this bean bag feature. Was easy to set up. Notice that some have had problems--just a little tip: You will need the bracket feature that came with your Nuvi system and the 10908 friction mount and you will be good to go. There's no need to buy anything else. The bracket snaps on to the GPS and the friction mount's head snaps into the bracket. You are done. As has been pointed out, you can move it from car to car or slip it under your seat out of view when leaving the car. Buy it. You won't go wrong. Well worth the money I spent here at Amazon. Thanks for all of the previous reviews that helped me make my decision.

Great Item January 29, 2008
A few of my friends have GPS' and are constantly struggling with their windshield mounts. Their gps falls off, is very difficult to removNd looks terrible.
When I purchased my Garmin Nuvi, I also purchased this mount. What a joy. It sits on my dash and does not move, no matter what the driving conditions, it holds steady. When I exit the car, I remove the unit, and place the mount on the floorboard.
One of the better purchases I have made. Do not hesitate to buy one.
