Garmin Portable Friction Mount for Nuvi January 29, 2008
Just love this friction mount for our Garmin GPS. It goes anywhere so we can move it to the passenger side of the car if traffic is heavy. The passenger can make any route changes or look for restaurants while the driver concentrates on driving.
Perfect companion for Nuvi January 29, 2008
I first used a friction type mount in a rental car with a GPS from the rental company. I figured it was just easier for them with loaner equipment. Boy was I wrong. It is without a doubt, the way to go if you want to be able to transfer your GPS from vehicle to vehicle or simply secure it quickly in the trunk. The mount stays where you put it, and easily conforms to different dash boards. I now have one of my own and could not be happier.
Excellent alternative January 28, 2008
I received a Garmin for a Christmas gift and found the mounting device that was included insufficient.It would fall off the windshield and this baby costed too much to bash on the floorboard every mile or so.I found the friction mount on Amazon and decided to invest.This product is awesome.It gives my Garmin plenty of stability and is a quick stash out of the view of car thieves.

Product is pretty easy to mount to the Garmin GPS. I have the 650 nuvi model and the mounting bracket fits perfectly to the back of the GPS. The sand like bag is very easy to put on the car and you can rotate the GPS.
Better than a permanent or suction mount...... January 28, 2008
The Portable Friction mount for the Garmin Nuvi series works better than the standard dash-mount or window-mounts, IMHO, much more versatile. Its great if you have more than one vehicle, just grab & go. It sits nicely anywhere on the dash or on a console, and does not move at all! Its great in that you're not advertising to potential thieves that you have a GPS (although I'm sure you always carry your GPS with you when leaving your vehicle, right?) - just unmount the GPS unit, put it in your pocket, then toss the friction mount under a seat.
