Forget the Suction Cup! January 24, 2008
This absolutely works, you can easily turn it to adjust the view spot on, easily anywhere on the dash. It does not move unless you roll the car. Its fool proof. And you can quickly toss in on the floor for security. the suction cup mounts will drive you crazy, they want water to stick, they fall off in cold, heat, turns, -- the windshield is too far away etc. the rubber molds to glass in hot sun and self destructs. I have used RAM, Garmin, and others, all no good.

I use this mount in a Honda Civic 2007. While it has not fallen off the dashboard (which is not flat in the 2007 Civic), it does move around a bit whenever I hit a bump and I find myself reaching over to make minor adjustment from time-to-time. It also leaves marks and lint on the dashboard which is caused by the materials used to construct the Civic dashboard. I have not found that to be a problem in other cars.
I've found that it can be placed in the storage bin beneath the radio which gives the device a built-in look and is convenient to the power and radio input plugs. It also makes it easier to discretely remove the device after parking. The only downside is that one has to glance downward to view the device. But I prefer that to making adjustments every time I hit a bump in the road.

It works surprisingly well. It does tend to fall off when starting or turning the car in an uphill position, but, of course, this will depend on the type of dashboard being used. Otherwise, it generally stays put on the dashboard. Good product if one does not want any permanent fixtures to hold the nuvi in their car.

I am very disappointed with my purchase with Electronics Expo. I ordered the Portable Friction Mount for my Garmin Nuvi 260 and they sent the "Auto Dash Mount" which isn't even close to what I ordered! It's a piece of plastic that looks like a replacement mount for the one that comes with my GPS. Now I have to deal with the headache of returning it which I probably won't end up doing because the mount that I originally wanted cost $23.88 +$6.00 SH&H for a total of $29.88. It'll cost me even more money to send it back. All I just wanted was for Electronics Expo to send me the correct product that I ordered!

This product is much better than the windshield mount. The windshield mount came loose 2 times. I love the friction mount. Garmin should include it instead the windshield mount.
