Garmin Portable Friction Mount January 5, 2008
The friction mount for the GPS works very well. It keeps the GPS viewable on the dash, can be positioned easily to configure to any dash, and does not move around as the car travels even over rough roads. My nuvi350 easily attaches and detaches from the mount. For security, when I leave the car, I detach my nuvi, take it with me, and place the mount on the floor of the car out of sight.

The original Garmin mount melted on the sun and got stuck on the windshield. If you buy Garmin, get this mount. It's practical, easy to switch between cars, the product is of high quality and Amazon delivery was as always stellar. Don't hesitate to buy this product.

The Gramin Portable Friction Mount is a good product to have. I tried the window suction mount but it keep falling down. I spent a lot of money on my Garmin GPS device not to have it damaged. I been using it for two months and I have had no problems with it. It just works! I hope that in the future that Garmin will package this Gramin Portable Friction Mount with their products.

This friction mount does exactly what it is supposed to do. I holds my Nuvi660 without movement on the dash. I am extremely satisfied and recommend it to anyone that does not want to use the windshield mount. Best price found on amazon.
Works as advertised. January 3, 2008
I own a Garmin (NUVI series)and it works just fine. It snaps together easily and rests firmly on the dashboard.
I've also been able to rest it on the console, out of sight, without loss of signal.
For those that are worried about "broadcasting" the fact that you have a GPS, this is a good alternative.
