Garmin Street Pilot c580 October 16, 2008 I love this product. I also bought one for my parents since they travel a lot. They also loved it. The price was OK. The bluetooth option works very well.
Best Value for your $$$ October 15, 2008 I'll keep this short and sweet....... You should consider this unit when buying an automotive GPS. It has been discontinued by Garmin but just a short time ago it was the BEST unit they had to offer. On Garmin's website they still show their price for the C580 at $ 589.27
Even though this lil' baby plays MP3 and has a picture viewer (you will probably NEVER use these features - but they are there) you need to remember, you are wanting a GPS that does what a GPS is supposed to do and this unit does it and ease of operation CAN'T be beat.
I get GPS signals on my C580 even in my basement!
My vote, 5 thumbs up!!!!!
Garmin StreetPilot c580 October 14, 2008 This GPS unit, being the first GPS system that I own, works very well for my purpose. I normally like to find my way around on my own but this GPS is great for those once-in-a-while I'm lost moments. It's slightly bulky but very light, and the screen color/graphic is fairly decent. Accurate directions, and easy to use system perfect for my occasional use. I wish though, there could've been some sort of Google map intergration because sometimes the GPS system would give me a set of directions, but I tend to like the Google map directions better. There is a way to load the google map onto the system but i think it would be better if it was already loaded with the google map software. Overall a great product for the price I paid. THis is a great GPS if you're just looking to have a navigation system to tell you where to go when you're lost without all of the fancy features of the pricier systems then this is perfect for you.
above average for the price October 12, 2008 After 3 long trips to unknown destinations, I can say that this model is pretty good deal for its price. it gives accurate directions, prompts when its time to turn or take an exit and does its job pretty well. Sometimes it does take forever to find a public place or a restaurant. Its not google...but it does it job accurately, for the bargain. Definitely a must have gadget for your car.
Had a wonderful time October 9, 2008 We went to Seattle, Vancouver, BC and then Yakima Valley. We enjoyed the Garmin. It was our first experiencer owning a GPS and it made driving around easier. My wife navigates and the Garmin allowed her to relax. The only down side was the free MNS service was never able to update or give useful information. It was worth what we paid for the service.
