Garmond GPS c580 August 11, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Garry (c580) got me to within 30 miles of my destination and then got confused. the signal from the satilite was weak and the area (southeatstern Ohio) where I was going does not have many GPS markers. Cell phone coverage was non existent also. And the road was under construction. But I made it 1 1/2 hours late. I liked using Garry and I think that as long as I am closer to civilization I will not have this trouble. I knew I would not be near any place to use the resturant finder so I have not used that feature yet and since there was no cell phone coverage I have not been able to use that feature either.
Must have product! August 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I just bough the c580 at an unbeatable price - $179. I decided to upgrade from the c530 and gave that one to my parents. Yes, there are the newer/sleeker Nuvi models out there, but this has every feature and more than most Nuvi models. The one year of free MSN Direct service, bluetooth, AND FREE 2009 MAP UPDATE, makes it a superior value to other Garmin Nuvi models. The only reason why someone should get a Nuvi is if they absolutely need a slim GPS; if not, save yourself hundreds of dollars and go with the c580.
Garmin is the best automotive GPS brand hands down. I have owned a Magellan (which I returned to Costco) in the past. I then tried the c530 and haven't looked back. I wouldn't be upgrading/buying another Garmin unless it was an excellent product. Don't try to cut corners with cheaper brands, go with Garmin they have the best map software and easy to use user interface.
Super GPS August 7, 2008 I love this GPS....it has more features than I will need...but it's nice having them anyway! The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because there have been a few instances when the directions given were not the most direct. Excellent value and a great tool.
Great portable nav system August 7, 2008 I first used a Garmin StreetPilot in an Avis rental car. We liked it so much that I bought some as gifts for my kids, and even an extra one for ourselves to take while traveling. Rental car navs aren't always available, and I really dislike the Hertz "Never Lost". This is very "user friendly" and I would highly recommend it.
Garmin StreetPilot C580 August 6, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have had my Garmin StreetPilot C580 for a little over a week now, and I cant tell you how much I truly enjoy using it's very simple menu. This is a must for anyone that owns an automobile.
I even use it around town going to places I'am familiar with, because it always' sends me around any traffic jams.
The c580 has more (bells and whistles) than I'll probably use on a regular basis, but there sure nice to have if you like that kind of stuff.
Amazon.com beat Walmart $196.99, Best Buy $299.99, I paid $189.00
