nice but shody reception May 8, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It is easy to function but it took me a week to figure out why i wasn't getting reception. You might have to put it out in the open for about 5 min, away from trees and tall buildings before it gains reception. That's a pain when i want to leave and go somewhere. As well the MSN reception is poor so you may not be able to always get traffic, gas prices, movie times, and weather.
I hope to read up more on my GPS when i have more time. Maybe there's trouble shooting for the MSN feature.
I love this GPS!!! April 10, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This GPS has saved my life since we moved. It is easy to operate and allows me to take risks driving that I would not normally take. The gas prices feature is fantastic and has saved me as much as $.07 a gallon. It is a good investment to use both locally and when you travel. I have found many restaurants, grocery stores, etc. and feel confident when I am driving that at least I will make it home with the "go home" feature.
Great GPS April 5, 2008 I've had a Garmin GPS for my boat and used it in the back country in the Florida Keys and never ran aground, so when I needed one for the road bought a Garmin. I paid a few dollars more for a better unit and it sure paid off. After I bought and used it in one car, had to sell the car and bought a SUV equipt with a navigation system. Believe it or not, I like the Garmin a whole lot better.
Solid upgrade from StreetPilot IIII April 3, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We just upgraded from the Garmin StreetPilot III we had used for the past six years. Improvements in core GPS functionality and the form factor are much appreciated. Bluetooth integration with my Sprint Treo 700p phone works nicely, although I wish the GPS could access the Treo's entire phone book rather than just its speed-dial. The MSN Direct service is functional and convenient, albeit inessential thus far -- haven't yet given its traffic features a real workout.
garmin c580 gps April 1, 2008 this item has been very useful, especially the hands free calling feature. One of the main reasons I bought this particular model was the rating by CR and because it is compatible with a wide range of cellphone companies. It is very user friendly and you can understand the computerized voice. I would recommend this gps.
