Darn Good June 9, 2008 I have used a couple of GPS units over the past few years and decided to purchase a portable one for an upcoming trip to Europe. I have had good experiences with Garmin so the x70 was the way to go. So far I have only used it in the US and it has performed as expected- very well. It froze a few times (a minor hick-up on the highway but a pain when in town). It has also sometimes given questionable ETAs, but I think this may be due to how I have inserted 'way' points. The thing is so easy to use that I never read the instruction manual. On a recent trip to Wy it directed me to a road that was no longer in use, so it important to remember that this (as are all GPS units) is a navigation aid...good driving requires good situational awareness). I am excited to have it in Europe while I wonder around. This is also when I will try some of its real-time features.
Overall this is a great product. Prices on GPS units are dropping all the time so shop wisely. The 670 can now be had for just about what I paid for the 370.
Garmin nüvi 370 3.5-Inch Bluetooth June 9, 2008 The product arrived in time. We were able to go and pick it up; the seller has some rules about the delivery. Was very helpful throughtout France.
Garmin too good? June 8, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Just returned from the Dordogne region in S.W. France. I am a first time GPS user. Our Garmin nuvi 370 was superb, especially in dealing with complex city addresses. We had it set for the "fastest" route. However, when in the country area, the Garmin seemed to take us through every small back road compared to more simplified and direct directions suggested by maps. Some of the roads actually stopped halfway into somebody's farm. You can get very dependent on this machine, give up the use of good maps, and use a lot of gas following the Garmin device.

I cannot update. The website won't recognize my Garmin, although everything else says it loaded properly.
convenient, powerful June 4, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
After my previous GPS was stolen from my car, I wanted a GPS so small that I could easily take it out of the car each time I left, yet be big enough so I could read the screen. The unexpected bonus: the speaker has good volume and the turns are identified by (well pronounced) street name ("Turn left on Smith Street") so I also don't need to look at it so often. I'm extremely happy with the product.
