4 out of 5 stars Magellan Mastero 4040   April 14, 2008
Product is easy to use, accurate, and a very good price. My only complaint is the suction cup mounting,it does not work without the supplied disc, which has to be permately mounted. I need to change vehicles, regulary. I would rate the unit overall a 4 1/2.

5 out of 5 stars A Life Saver!   April 13, 2008
I had to use the Magellan Maestro 4040 GPS recently out of state. It was amazing!!! Never got lost!! Just put in an address and you're set to go. It saved me from an otherwise stressful experience!!!

5 out of 5 stars So far very pleased   April 12, 2008
Used this item only a few times since I've got it and it led me almost to the door of my destination. "It just would not quite park my car." If you travel or run errands to differant destination's, I strongly recommend this GPS.

4 out of 5 stars Magellan 4040   April 10, 2008
After much research, I recently purchased a Magellan 4040 GPS. I had identified several models from leading manufacturers as acceptable. My selections were based on models with similar features - 4. 3" screen, text-to-voice, lots of POI, updatable, high reviews, etc. My actual purchase came when I found the Magellan 4040 at the lowest price I have seen it on Amazon before or after.

I have found the unit easy to learn and fun to use. I have not experienced any of the negative things cited in the many reviews I read. Although, I confess, I have not had call to contact Magellan customer service, which is a fear developed from the negative reviews about the customer service at Magellan.

Bascially I picked up the unit when I received it and started wondering around in the various menus. Operation of the unit seems pretty intuitive and I have successfully navigated four trips without ever viewing the training CD or reading any other instructions. Entering a destination as city, street, number seems only logical when programming a trip. I do not see how it could be done any better or understand the complaints I read about this feature. I particulary enjoy the display of arrival time and the details displayed when one taps the compass on the main screen.

After one month with the unit, I am very pleased with the 4040 and would recommend it highly.
