i bought this gps from amazon.com after I found out in store price is much higher in most retail stores. anyway it works same as higher version nuvi 350 at half price. only differance is lack of house power charger, which you don't really need. i don't need mp3 or other useless functions other expensive gpses offer.
this nuvi200 is just good in size and function for driving. even my 2003 bmw has a expensive factory installed, cd based gps, i still need this nuvi for its endress pois. it really works.

Purchased this as a Christmas gift for my husband. He absolutely loved it. It will help prevent arguments when going on vacation. You enter your destination and it tells you when to turn. It even lists restaurants. I am a terrible map reader. This is was an excellent purchase.
200 versus 660 January 18, 2008
This is a wonderful toy - I mean tool! I didn't think I really needed one, but I teach physics and astronomy, and I figured I should experience the technology I teach. Turns out, I have used it and enjoyed it more than I thought I would. I did my research and concluded the Garmin brand was the way to go. Although I bought the 660 for myself, I bought the 200 for my daughter and son-in-law, so I have some comparisons. The most obvious difference for me besides screen size is the text-to-voice feature of the 660, but this feature alone may not be worth the extra cost. It is really nice to have, even a bit eerie, but it does not have all the local signage down pat, because a few roads (only a few) have a different name than what is stored. Of course, it does tell you how many feet or miles before you turn like the 200, and the bigger screen is fantastic. I haven't used all the features that the 660 has over the 200, so again the 200 may be all you need. I was astounded when I used the coordinates mode and found out it was precise to about ten feet! My daughter and son-in-law took the 200 to the Bay Area, drove around and on to Reno and back, and they rave about it. He is an electrician and really uses it to get to jobs. The 200 came with only the car charger, but I discovered the USB charger for my Motorola Razor phone is exactly the same!

This does exactly what I need it to do and nothing more; Finds things nearby and takes me there. Very simple to set up. The software is already pre-loaded. You stick it in your car and turn it on. I highly recommend this GPS.
I want to clarify one point of confusion. A lot of people were complaining that when they received the unit, it was preloaded with the old maps. It now comes pre-loaded with 2008 version.

I purchased this GPS system for my husband for Christmass. He drives new cars for dealers all over the country.Picking up and delivering them too.
He was so tired of reading map Quest directions half the time he was lost. This system takes him right to the door,and does not have to look down to see if he had to make a turn.Because of trying to read every 2 or 3 minutes he was involved in a motor vehichle accident in V.A where a car stopped short in front of him,and he bumped his car.He also received a summons worth more then the Gps system.If he had the Garmin Nuvi,it would of told him where to turn,and would not have recked the brand new 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 he was delivering.Thats why I purchased the Garmin Nuvi 200.system Thank you for such a great product that I bought from your company.Its has made his job much easier and gives the best information you can get.including all features it comes with.
