4 out of 5 stars Decent Budget GPS   June 8, 2008
GPS is decent; however it has some good features like points of interest and intersection look up. I live in NYC and use it a lot to find places but just get intersections instead of addresses. The directions are sometimes a little strange and take you some odd ways. Also when you use the address function it doesn't really get you to the house it's supposed to get to but somewhat close. It gets me to the block and then I look for the house number. Also the points of interest don't have a lot of destinations in it. I haven't connected it to my computer to check for updates but should soon.
Other then that the GPS is a good budget GPS if you are looking for something to get you place to place even long distance trips. I went from Long Island to Cape Cod and had no problems along the way. I would recommend this for a gift to someone or just to get if you want a nice slim very useful GPS. If you want something to know exactly where you're going and find every place you're looking for I wouldn't recommend it for that.

5 out of 5 stars Very Functional   June 6, 2008
This little device is amazing. Lots of features and very affordable. Buy several and give them to friends and family.

5 out of 5 stars Best GPS on the market. Will pay for itself on gas savings. BUY THREE!   June 5, 2008
I purchased two of these last Christmas and gave one to my girlfriend. Recently I gave one to my brother for a Birthday present. She says it is the best gift she has ever received and she uses it all the time, taking it with her when she travels. For myself. I like three things about it. I never get lost any more. I find new and quicker routes to places I go often. I suspect it has paid for itself on gas savings alone. Finally, even though I don't always follow it's directions, because on common routes I know quicker ways, I love the fact that it tells me what time I will arrive. It is very accurate on time estimates. If you are going to be late, you can give an estimated arrival time.

The display is fine. I see no need for a larger display. The touch controls are perfect. I've seen other brands with buttons. You don't want that. Touchscreen is the only way to go. There are more advanced models that include traffic reporting. My girlfriend often drive to Manhattan and through New York state from Connecticut to New Jersey--an awful route. She loves this model and does see the need for the traffic routing. That feature will triple your cost.

What else do I like. I like the favorites control. It is easy to use. I add place I go to often, saving from recently found. You can rename locations quickly and easily. The sound can be turned up or down easily with the touchscreen also.

One warning, take the time to punch up the address before you start driving. It can be a distraction that could get you into an accident if you try to drive and punch in the touchscreen keyboard. that keyboard works great when stopped, but it is much harder to use while in motion--If you use the favorites, that is fast, three key punches to enable, and safe to operate while moving.

It includes and SD card reader to display pictures--a useless feature, in my opinion. Also you can remove it and hook it up to your computer to update points of interest. Points of Interest often make it easy to find places you want to go--like restaurants for example. However, I find it is usually faster to punch in an address. I make a habit of punching in an address, and storing it in advance of a trip. This gives me a time estimate, which I use to plan my departure time, with an alarm setting on my cell phone.

It has a battery so that you can take it with you while walking! Handy in a city where you can't find numbers on buildings and have to park a distance away. There is a lever on the window suction mount that can be thrown to remove it easily. Be sure to bring the mount with you when you travel, because this thing will not stand up on it's own, and laying it on the dash will find it sliding all over the place and hard to read.

Power is by mini-USB adapter and cigarette lighter plus. I'm consider getting a second power adapter and permanently wiring it in. If you cigarette lighter turns off when you shut of the car, it will take a bit longer to boot up. I don't have that problem with my pickup truck. I'd rather turn it off when I plan to leave the vehicle parked for a long time, over having to wait for it to boot up every day. There is an option to leave it on in battery mode. Do that if you lighter disconnects when the car is shut off.

When not giving you directions, the map display is nice. It provides street name information as you drive that can be read from the display. I find I learn the street names that I never would have learned otherwise, because they are impossible to read on signage while driving.

The bottom like is if you get lost with this device, in means the address was incorrect. Never get lost again. Think about taking that stress out of your life. It will make you happier.

5 out of 5 stars Great for price!   June 4, 2008
My wife and I used this GPS during our trip to Grand Canyon and Las Vegas. Nuvi helped us a lot to find routes and of course very helpful to find "point of interest" such as gas station, restaurants etc. (some addresses are little outdated though; probably we need update our GPS). Nuvi 200 gives accurate routes and re-calculates routes pretty fast.
In summary, this a great GPS at affordable price!

4 out of 5 stars very convinient module   June 4, 2008
It 's very easy to use. So far, the GPS direction instruction is accurate. the resolution is about 20 to 40 meters. Some time, the satellites serching is some slowly.
