4 out of 5 stars Good First GPS for the Price   December 22, 2007

I bought this item about 3 weeks ago. Overall, I've been happy with it. For the most part it's easy to use and is quick to calculate where you're at and to recalculate when you take a different route than what it is proposing. I only have 2 commplaints: 1) the user instructions included in the box are almost useless (turns out most instructions are included in help files located in the unit itself, although nothing in the box tells you to look there) and, 2) some of the maps are inaccurate (in my neighborhood the unit shows that I've missed the turn onto my street when in fact I'm still 200-300 feet away).

4 out of 5 stars accurate most of the time   December 21, 2007

the garmin nuvi works very well. sometimes it has the address on the wrong side of the street but that is a minor problem. it does not always know the best route but will get you to the address, very helpful if you are in a strange place.
my job requires me to make appox. 15 to 20 stops in a day and the nuvi has helped greatly. i do not see a need for it to announce the name of the street, announcing the turn is quite enough.
a zip code feature would be a nice addition.
i am very happy with it and have purchased an additional two for christmas presents.

5 out of 5 stars Simple to use necessity   December 18, 2007

This Garmin is all you need in a GPS and easy to use. I bought them for my parents and in laws for christmas b/c all you do is turn them on and they work. I tested it myself first and liked it so much I had to keep one

5 out of 5 stars So far, so good...   December 17, 2007

Just purchased this - the screen is plenty large. I don't know why someone would complain about it's size. My mom, who requires glasses to see things like this, said she could see it fine without glasses. So far, I am happy with this. I didn't want MP3 or any thing other than the navigator... and this seems like it'll be perfect. So far, so good.

5 out of 5 stars Impressed with this GPS   December 16, 2007

I am quite impressed with this GPS. I have Honda's nav system on my 2007 Accord and this Garmin unit is just as good as the built-ins.
Reasons I like this unit:

1) Size - The unit is small which is great for putting it away when car is parked and unoccupied, and it's small enough to carry in a purse if desired.

2) Touch screen - easy to use, quick response to commands.

3) Basic - you don't have to pay for "bells and whistles" features such as Bluetooth, which is not something really required for a nav system.

4) Price - what else can I say, the price of this unit is fantastic. It I can pay less than $200 for a unit that gets me from point A to B without getting lost, why do I need to spend in upwards of $400 - $800 for a "fancier" model. THIS GETS YOU WHERE YOU NEED TO GO and for a lot less.

I give this unit 10 stars. It started up right out of the box and was ready to use in a couple minutes and then, viola!, I was on my way...

It took me longer to cut my way into the plastic box that the unit is packed in. Why, why, why does this have to be such a hard thing to do. It's like opening a new dvd or cd. :)

Don't waste your money on the more expensive GPS systems when this inexpensive unit accomplishes what you are truly looking for in a GPS.
