3 out of 5 stars Ok. Product for Small Budgets   April 12, 2008
The looks of this unit is pretty nice. The volume level (speaking turn by turn directions) are very low at the max level. The map also takes you the long way (example: instead of taking you strait to an Interstate Route it will take you through a residential neighborhood instead of a straight shot). Also, there is no map updates available for this product, so when ordering just hope that it was recently manufactured. Anyway, the images are clearly visible. I've had one situation where the Voice Directions did not work (required me to reboot the system). It also takes a little bit for it to pickup your current location when turning on the unit. Could use some improvements, but for someone who is looking to use this once a week or less, I would say purchase it!

4 out of 5 stars Nextar C3 review   April 11, 2008
I purchased the Nextar C3 for our recent trip to Florida(3/20/08 - 3/27/08). My Father in law had a Nextar P3. When I saw the bargain price for the C3 I bought that instead. The Nextar worked great for our trip to Florida and is still working great. I Know it's not as fancy as Garmin or Magellan, but for $115 bucks I'm very satified. Just type in the address and off you go.

3 out of 5 stars good gps,but lacking   April 6, 2008
This gps is a good low end.It does not recoginize all areas of my route. For a starter gps it works fine, but it should be able to update and does not have that option.

2 out of 5 stars Works great, but defective power cord and horrible C.S.   April 4, 2008
I bought this unit in July of '07. It was my first GPS unit and I was very impressed with it. The screen is bright and easy to read and the voice prompts and speed sensor are nice features. My major gripe with this product relates to the vehicle power cord. The car plug was defective and literally fell apart after only a few uses. I have power plugs that I use regularly that are several years old and they are holding up just fine so I must assume this is a manufacturing defect. I contact their customer service number, placed the order for a replacement and waited and waited and waited. At some point a few months ago I contacted the company to learn that the part was on back order. So I waited a few more months and today, after six months of waiting, I called the company again only to learn that they lost my order! I am more than half way through their warranty period and I still don't have a functioning product. Fortunately, I am told that they now have the item in stock and the are sending a replacement which I will have in 10-14 days. If I ran this company, I would be deeply apologetic for the defective product and automatically extend the warranty period with my most sincere apologies.

2 out of 5 stars Stop working after three months   February 16, 2008
I purchased this navigation system based on all the great reviews. It arrived in perfect condition. Unfortunately, after using it about 6 times in 3 months, the unit suddenly stop working -- When it was turned on, the GPS just go frozen at the loading screen, stopped at 10% of the loading bar and won't go on.

I contacted Nextar via their 1-888 number, and the only thing to do was return it for repair. SO I had to spend money to send the unit into Nextar for repair, and they said that the estimated repair time will take approximately 6 weeks after they receive it.

Maybe you can think about it - IF
* you don't mind to take the risk of lost your direction in the middle of trip
* you are willing to take the trouble of returning and waiting
* you can drive without a GPS for about two months(or more - who knows).
