TomTom impressions December 25, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Satisfactory in all the important ways - my only negative reaction came after the second time the suction cup on the windshield let go and the unit tumbled (undamaged) onto the dashboard. I was advised to moisten the cup WITH SALIVA (not tap water), which inelegant suggestion seems to have solved the problem.

Excellent Product. Easy to use. "Plug and play" directly out of the box. Quick Shipment. Good Price.
Very Satisfied December 24, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We bought the Tom Tom to use on our vacation but started using it on simple errands to see how it performed. We were very pleased to see and hear it working, if we missed a turn it was very quick to redirect us to get back on track. We have not had one single issue with it and are very pleased with our choice.
If you get lost easily, this is for you. December 24, 2007 Setup was fast and easy, and directions to a given location were amazingly accurate. Once you try it, you will wonder how you ever got along without it. I may even get a second one for the other vehicle. On the downside, onboard battery life is short, and sun glare might be a problem if you mount the device on the windshield, as recommended. A sunvisor or shield of some sort would be a handy solution, but this is not a major problem.
Tom Tom XL December 24, 2007 I purchase the Tom Tom XL after seeing my sisters Garmin. I decided on the Tom Tom XL because of the price. It was half of the cost of the Garmin. I really like my Tom Tom. It does a good job and I think they are making upgrades all the time. I do not think it is a user friendly as the Gamin Nuvi nor does it have the points of interest that the Garmin has. If they ever get all the points of interest and show the addresses and phone numbers then I think it would be great. Those are the only things I wish it had. For the money, if you just want to put in a address it will get you there and I do think that they are making upgrades all the time. So over all I am Happy with my Tom Tom xl and for the money I dont think I could beat it.
Happy Tom Tom owner
