I am new to US and just got a car, so far traveled locally and it worked good. Great product.
 Great Basic GPS October 18, 2008
I bought it as a very basic, no frills GPS. It is adequate as just that. Very quick on recalculations. If you want a basic GPS for not much money, I would recommend this one.
 Useful item--tricky software October 18, 2008
Once I got TomTom working, it became a useful addition to my ramblings on country roads, or exploring new territory. Getting it working, however, took a long series of calls to tech support and several days of attempted downloads. Finally I was given instructions on how to wipe the system clean and reload the operating system from scratch, and I was finally in business.
An excellent piece of hardware, hamstrung by terrible start-up instructions and quirky software. I'm enjoying it now, but the first two weeks were no fun at all.

The TomTom ONE XL is spectacular--the screen is big enough that it's not a struggle to see details while you're driving. The set-up is very easy to navigate. I'm incredibly pleased with it.

I bought this for a great price and it is worth its weight in GOLD!! SO easy to use, it was ready to go in about 2 minutes.
So easy, my 11 yr old could have done it. The screen is very big and very easy to see.
Don't waste your money getting a better and better unit. This one is awesome.
