Wow, what a great GPS for $150 from Amazon April 5, 2008

Just got this today and have used it around town. The GPS is excellent. I sold my TomTom Go 300 (which basically is obsolete) as the unit is big, very dim and very heavy, after I saw this on Amazon for $150. The GPS is a winner for the price. Not as good as my nuvi 660 but a steal at that price and much better than the Tom Tom. Routes are very good around San Francisco and all the way to Stanford (Palo Alto). Voice is loud, but not as good as the Nuvi. Bluetooth works excellent with my iphone for making calls, although you can't get your address book like on the Nuvi. I've owned TomTom, Magellan, Lowrence, Navman, Navigon, Garmin and Pioneer and this is definately one of the better ones (although the Garmin units trump this but this trumps all the others. Highly recommended. 2 1/2 years ago I bought the TomTom Go 300 for $500 and now I feel like I wasted all that money knowing how cheap they became. The unit is discontinued now from Magellan but is still being sold many places and Amazon has the best deal. Pick one up and you won't be sorry.

This has been a great product. It works and it gets you to where you want to go. If you already know how to get there...it will not go the way you want. I would recommend this product.

Thank God I bought this from Amazon .. Bought it for 149...Immediately after opening I noticed you cant charge it in home unless you go and buy an adaptor.. After using My car battery pack to power it I got on the Magellan site to update the firmware...After two hours of starting the download and it kicking me out because the server is SOSOSOSO slow I realized that magellan didnt care if I owned their product... Also I recently gave my son a tom tom 1 3rd edition aand let me tell you even the lowely tom tom one has loads of features the magellan couldnt even start to do.... The TOM TOM has several voices for instance three male and three female to choose from the TOM TOM 1 has dozens of other features that the Magellan dosent have... The only thing the Magellan does better is that in it;'s scratchy voice it names the street instead of saying turn right. But thats the only feature it has... Two year old maps... and the download site at magellan is for the most part DEAD and unresponsive... As for the TOMTOM the maps downloaded within seconds...Dont buy this magellan it is not worth even $99

Works well, but be carfull on sortest route option. It will take you on the shortest route, not always the best route. It is amazing what cow paths are in this database! For the dollars spent not bad.

This was bought as a gift and she seems to be happy with it -I do not recieve any calls looking for directions.
