Fun to use May 31, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It is fun to use the "nuvi" if you are by yourself, it's nice with someone talking to you on your trip and giving you all your directions. Only complaint would be to have a more detailed instruction booklet.
Website Support is HORRIBLE, Nuvi offroad? Excellent! May 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased the Nuvi 200W about a month ago and am pretty happy with the equipment with the following exceptions. I just updated the map to the new 2009 version (how do they do that in the spring of 2008 is a mystery only marketers and other rodents of the weasel family can understand) If you are a big fan of the simplicity and elegant ease of Windows Vista you will LOVE the Garmin map update, it is as convoluted and annoying as it comes, wear a hat or you will have a bald spot when it's over... The maps themselves did not appear to improve, the nonexistent roads are still here, the bridge that has been gone for 10 years is still here. Apparently they (Garmin) doesn't care as they have no way for users to advise them of map errors. (we are probably not smart enough?)
On the positive side. My family does a lot of "off roading" in a Jeep Rubicon. There are trails on this thing that are unnamed two tracks, in fact most of the trails that are shown on USGS Topo maps are on my Nuvi. It is kind of random and virtually impossible to guess if you are being "navigated" onto a real road or onto a road that required a Jeep Rubicon to get through and, in fact, we have gotten STUCK on trails that appear on the Nuvi. The good part is that when you are running out of gas or time and need to get out of the woods (which is sometimes 30 minutes on the trails) this thing gets you out with out getting you lost. The word of warning, if you're driving a Toyota Celica in northern Michigan, do NOT use the shortest route setting!!!
Great GPS, highly recommended! May 27, 2008 I love it. Easy to use, screen is big enough and bright enough to see the map even in a very sunny weather.
Good for the price May 26, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought it as a gift for my wife, the reason I picked this model was the price but also the size of the screen. The only problem I have noticed it takes while to find satellite signal but that issue seems to be with almost every GPS device.
Great GPS! May 26, 2008 I bought this after reading a review on [...], my dad just got a new job and since he will be traveling across the country I figured he'd be better of with one. Its simple and easy to use, and I just bought my mom one too. It has every feature I could ever use and more. Its great overall and fun to play with.
